I'm Afraid of Americans
I've read he's a raw foodist, so I hope he shows up at my L.A. raw food restaurant, SunCafe Organic, someday ;-)”

“glad to see someone mentioned "I'm Afraid of Americans".”

“So funny, having your own sex toy line is the hot new status symbol. Dozens of people have their own line, including Ron Jeremy, sex talk guru Sue Johanson, Dr. Laura Berman http://www.PleasureMeNow.com”
“I am not a vegetarian - but I admire his willingness to make necessary changes to improve his health. I continue to enjoy meat and fish and eggs but I find I am eating smaller amounts in recent years.”
With this logic, why not start WWIII, it's man's nature to war. It's been in every society, except one. The point of human evolution is to evolve, not return to his animal instincts. Man's goal is to make heaven on earth, not to turn it into hell.”
“If you don't eat veal, you shouldn't eat cheese. Veal is a disposable by-product of the milk industry. You have to keep cows pregnant to get milk and the calves are left overs to be tortured in crates for slaughter.”

“Not all veal is "tortured in crates." Research "vitellone" or "red veal."”

“Yes you can keep a pair of goats and make a nice queso blanco and raise your kids with the kids. Chickens love the whey and the extra milk ect. Dairy goats and gardens and chickens make a great enterprise in food security. And kids and kids get along so well.”

“Or we could let the cows grow up and grind them into hamburger for McDonalds. It is the circle of life - all is good.”
All ages can benefit from a vegan diet. I am 54, been a vegan for 35 years. I look 20 years younger than my contemporaries, take no medications, have no diseases or conditions. Being vegan reduces your risk by 60-70% for the 2 diseases that kill the largest number of Americans: heart disease and many cancers.”
Vickster on Feb 4, 2011 at 23:32:59
“Any vegan (or vegetarian) who looks twenty years younger is the (very rare) exception to the rule. Or so it seems to me. What led me to question this diet were all the vegetarians who looked forty-five when they were twenty-eight and seventy when they were forty-eight.
Also, contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence that meat, eggs or dairy causes cancer or heart disease.”

“You are missing what I am saying. Few people take the time to eat square meals and to eat right being a vegan takes allot of effort especially if you are not well off and especially if you do not live in a urban area. I live in the real world not in yuppie town.”
“Sandy, I've received a lot of feedback from customers at my raw food restaurant, Sun Cafe in Studio City. They report the same experiences you have enjoyed from raw food. 2 women told me they ate raw for a month, one described it as gorging on raw including fatty desserts and nut shakes, and they lost 15 and 17 pounds respectively. I don't recommend "gorging" on high fat raw foods, but it is interesting that they still lost weight and neither was more than 30 pounds overweight to begin with.
Many people tell me how "energized" they are after eating raw food, unlike most people who eat a cooked meal and need a nap. I also hear many comments about being more clear thinking.”
“#1 killer in America - Heart Disease - Clinical trials prove main cause meat and milk and that vegans reduce their risk 70% from this disease.
#2 killer in America - Cancer - Clinical trials have proven vegans avoid a huge percentage of cancers by their diet, especially breast cancer and
“I can't believe Ms. Huffington is so off the mark as to believe the financial collapse of the markets had anything to do with laissez-faire economics.
Government intervention was the primary cause of the collapse when Barney Frank forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to loan to people with bad credit and not enough income to cover their mortgage payments.
With the recent $700 Billion bailout, the government stole an average of $6,000 from every single tax payer in America. Many experts believe there will be additional similar bailouts. The government
In addition, President Bush has grown the government, and it's spending, more than any president since FDR! Most estimates now place the National Debt, including unfunded entitlements, at over $40 Trillion! That is an average of $400,000 per tax payer!!! You owe this amount whether you realize it or not!
The government, not the market place, is leading us toward financial ruin.
In a Libertarian world this collapse would not have occurred as financial institutions would have been responsible for their own loan failures, not pawning them off on a government agency like Fannie Mae. When companies and individuals are RESPONSIBLE for their own actions they normally use prudence. Now, the government is there to "Bail you out" so why act responsibly.

“Let's widen the scope of the argument a little, shall we?
Since the "Reaganomics" 80s, Globalization/Neoliberalism moved millions of good paying jobs to foreign countries. The mass exodus of the Manufacturing sectors destroyed most industrial U.S. jobs by the early 90s. Lucky for Supply-Side cheerleaders, the Tech-Bubble created temporary jobs and the illusion of wealth in this country, - inflating home prices even while we didn't have a sustainable economy. Globalization - Round-2: most tech and service-center jobs, remainder of manufacturing moves to Asia/Mexico, wages/salaries driven down considerably and the banks (not Barney Frank, not the Big 3, not Randi Rhodes...) created these predatory "Ninja Loans" in order to exploit the desperate folks (some were reaching too big, yes, but many were trying to maintain their lives in a false economy)
Now, those same banks are being bailed out by Karl Marx (**Given money**) while, audaciously, the right-wing is crying "Socialism" at the suggestion of an automaker BRIDGE LOAN.
Laissez Faire (Neo-classic, Neoliberalism, etc) has failed miserably over two centuries. It is an unsustainable, Ponzi-scheme economy. It's an organized criminal empire.”

“You may be oversimplifying a problm which has been years in the making.
In my opinion, the larger causation of the present economic crisis are:
(A) The expensive wars we are involved in, (B) The violently-oscillating
price of oil, and (C) The ongoing "free trade" fiasco which has cost this
country a staggering amount of good-paying jobs, which have disappeared
forever overseas. The Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac thing would not have
amounted to a blip on the economic radar screen if (A, B, and C) had
not been pre-existing conditions.”
