“My point is that you tend to expect outrageous on MTV. And, they don't have to follow the FCC decency laws that network television does.

If ABC had any clue what Adam was going to do, there should have been a special notice, like they do for so many shows, warning that the following could be found offensive (and again, I'm not talking about the kiss... Brothers and Sisters had two men kissing on it... but the simulated sex act, which was cut from the West Coast rebroadcast).”

“Again, it was on MTV, not ABC/Disney (cable vs. network broadcast). If Adam had done this on MTV, people would still talk, as they did back when Madonna kissed Britney, but I bet it wouldn't be as much (though simulated sex acts, gay or straight, would probably get anyone talking)”

“It's always a big deal and complaints come in whenever there is even a hint of actual s3xuality by LGBT people. And in the real world, when we don't have to worry about getting beat up (or worse) for holding hands or a simple kiss, then I'll agree that this society thinks it's no big deal.”
