Sarah Palin: You're No Dan Quayle -- and That's Not a Compliment!
Commented Aug 30, 2008 at 22:57:50 in Politics
“Poor thing, you're confused. Let me help you out. You can't even remember your own talking points. Clinton's infamous quote was "it all depends on what the definition of 'is' is." Bill Clinton never claimed to not knowing what sex is, wherever you got that bizarre claim.
And it was Michelle Obama who gaffed that "for the first time in my adult life, I'm REALLY proud of our country!" which was then distorted and deliberately misquoted by the rightwing media.
Obama has spent 4 years in the U.S. Congress and 8 years in the Illinois State Legislature. Compare to Abraham Lincoln, who spent 2 years in U.S. Congress and 8 years in the Illinois State Legislature. Also, Illinois is harder to manage than Alaska.”

Day One of the Democratic Convention: Ted Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Protestors, and What It Means to be a Democracy

“True. Thing can only get worse before they get better. I''m hoping that the bleeding will have stopped after a term and a half, and Obama will have 2 years to make America somewhat better than it was before. But if Democrats lose either of the next two elections, America's going to Hell in a handbasket.”

“Out of the park, I agree. Sitting at home, watching my TV, I stood up and cheered at the end of it. It was pure brilliant. Fantastic opening night. The Kennedys' speeches brought me to tears. Mrs. Obama's speech filled me with pride and joy. Such class and character, so worthy of a First Lady! And her grace, her eloquence-- she could be a candidate herself, if she wanted to!”
Pastor Hagee: The Antichrist Is Gay, "Partially Jewish, As Was Adolph Hitler" (Paging Joe Lieberman!)

“That's mine too. Be a good person; if religion helps you become a good person, use it. In the end, it doesn't matter what religion you are. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Atheists who do good in life will end up living a good afterlife. .. Even if you were expecting something else. (Inclusivism)”

Letter to Hillary: Remember When John McCain Slimed Your Daughter?
Commented Apr 16, 2008 at 14:25:17 in Politics
“Novel strategy:
Step one:
McCain attacks Obama. For what? Who cares.
Step two:
Barack, Michelle, or a top surrogate shoot back that Obama "doesn't need to be lectured by a well-documented misogynist!" in full attack mode.
Step three:
The media loops Obama's accusation along with John McCain's sexist comments. See: "Chelsea Ugly;" "Cindy McCunt;" "Beat the Bitch;" Vicky Iseman affair. Headlines and teasers are easy, because the media loves this stuff. You can just imagine Wolf Blitzer's stupid teaser: "the campaign season is on, and John McCain is being accused of misogyny. But the attacker isn't who you might think!"
Step four:
Analysis–– Surprise! Identity politics glitch and crash. Obama steals Clinton's thunder among women, while making McCain and Clinton both look bad. Who insults the president of their own fan club?
Step five:
Clinton is finally pressured into attacking McCain at least once. Half-heartedly or full blast? Her choice.
Step six:
The Democratic party is a little more united. The media is a little more uncomfortable with McCain.”

“You know what, I love this idea. (Except lose Vicky Iseman, that's a red herring that went nowhere.)
Rather brilliant, actually.
And How about adding educational experts to talk on TV about their worries about the influence of McCain's crude vulgarity on the self esteem of young girls, and young men learning to be loutish and crude by example. The "dear god what about the children" brigade should be called out in force. Family values, dontcha know.”

“Schadenfreude. You must have loved the Yellow Journalism of the Gilded Age. Mixing fact with opinion is a horrible brand of journalism. You need to keep them separate, or all hell breaks loose.
The so-called "elitism" of Obama's remarks is not a fact, but it has been reported as such, and thus opinion has become fact. And admitting Obama's faults... I'm first to admit them... but seriously? This isn't innocently critiquing an imperfection. This was DAMNING Obama's entire character and message.”

Obama: No Surprise That Hard-Pressed Pennsylvanians Turn Bitter

“Wow, this is a non-story. He said bitter, but he didn't mean bitter as in "Taste." (Pennsylvanians taste great.) Pennsylvanians are bitter as in "Cynical" bitter.
Barack Obama said that Americans are CYNICAL... about POLITICS?!?! They feel let down by the Bush/Clinton free trade liar dynasties??? They think America's off on the wrong track? Tell me something I don't know!!”

“Your fellow Obama-haters have already declared that Obama's 6-year part-time attorney career was too short and insignificant to claim as experience ... you've already flip-flopped.
(Hillary worked full-time for the union-busting, rapist-defending Rose Law Firm for over 20 years. That's a lot of lying.)”

Ralph Nader's Nadir
Commented Feb 24, 2008 at 22:25:18 in Home
“You know what they say about trying the same thing over and over and respecting different results... The vast majority of voters just aren't interested in voting for Nader, and it would take a miracle for him to pass the 10% margin. There is no possibility he would ever win the presidency. So why does he run?
Vanity, with a selfish disregard for the consequences. This is what happens when you have too much money– you treat the Presidency like a game. What a funny little government!”

“Even John Kerry noted that the Clinton's "only care about themselves and power." Pretty sad when former Clinton supporter, record mogul David Geffen (Geffen Records) once said “Everybody in politics lies, but [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling. ” He was more specifically directing this at Hillary.”

“It's impossible to have the same public speaking voice as your regular voice. Obama's public speaking style is to annunciate the same form of iambic pentameter, verbal rhythm most famously used by Martin Luther King. (Maybe Barack picked it up at church?)
That's just how he talks, Subconscious locution. (Claiming this to be an "accent change" shows either great ignorance or possible tone deafness on your part. See a doctor)

Kucinich Asks Iowa Supporters To Back Obama
Commented Jan 01, 2008 at 18:09:25 in Home
“I should have seen this coming. I don't think Dennis Kucinich has the capacity to handle the Presidency, but I like his positions on the issues.
At this point, Dennis would never vouch for somebody who voted for the war. He'd go with his fellow idealist, who was also opposed to this war from the start.
Hopefully this is the first of several. Throughout the year, Barack has been very respectful to the second tier. I remember an article about how, in between commercials at one debate, he encouraged Sen. Dodd to "speak up more" and share Dodd's "excellent ideas."”

“Dennis is a populist and we never have and never will elect one to a seat of power in this government as long as big money continues to marginalize candidates like Kucinich. Thus, we will never have a true Democracy with a government of, by, and for the people until we make the elite power structure more afraid of us than we are of them !”
