“It would seem so. It was foolish of the HOA to offer anything at all until the criminal trial is over. TM's broken family are unsure of the trial verdict will be, so decided to take what was offered while they can. .”
“Thank you for the link. I've always wondered where one could find the data collected as a result of Japanese "research". If true, it seems to give them a shred of credibility in the matter. Are the Japanses the only ones allowed to do this?
They sell byproducts (meat) because they are allowed to under the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling regulations (Article VIII Paragraph 2). It states in part that " by-products of the research (meat) be utilized". Proceeds of the sales are used to finance the operation. Some of the data collected, such as stomach contents and levels of toxins can be considered useful but not at all surprising,
A good question is, do we need this "research" on large marine mammals? If so, it should be done by a country that wants to resume whaling on a commercial scale? Des that fact skew the "research" data?
You are correct Alan, they should stay out of the sanctuaries. I suppose they "hunt" there because that's where the whales are. I see on the website that they have considerable "data" on sperm whales, a highly endangered species.
We can complain all we like, but it's up to the UN to change things.”

“The Japanese are deeply involved in the massive slaughter of elephants for ivory. We can stand up to the Japanese by not buying anythng , "Made in Japan."”
“I may be wrong, but I’m fairly certain that it is already a federal crime for a convicted felon to reside in a household that contains any firearm (or ammo). It seems that the ones responsible for passing and enacting laws don’t even know what is currently there. In fact, they know very little at all about the subject”
“You are one of the very few to mention the obviously phony smoke. With unlimited funds and technology , the photo should at least fool amateurs.”

“YES , thats who it was ment for , The truly clueless about weapons and what happens when you shoot certain types of weapons . I have fired shotguns and know they kick like a mule , some worse than others depending on guage and have fired several types of pistols and a uzi .”
“It looks yellow on my PC. It's called a sight, I understand why you would want to "dumb it down". My question is; what is the thing sticking out of the top barrel. If it where a screw in choke both barrels would have one, no?”
“Well sometimes it s justified. This is an obviously phony picture; I’ve shot a lot of skeet, trap and shooting clays, and have NEVER seen a shotgun smoke like that, as the powder used in shotgun loads is very clean burning. Black powder ones, which this certainly is not, would be an exception.”
