“Rand Paul is a great Humanitarian, doncha think? Why help people who are out of work, living in a modern Depression Era? Let them be foreclosed, let them starve, let them live in their cars and LET THEM EAT CAKE.”

“The DEmocrats according to you are humanitarians. letting foreigners come here and take jobs away; giving them food stamps when they live in mexico and guaranteeing corp's to have a profit with subsidies.”

“The unrelenting obstructionism displayed by the Repooplicans in Congress are all the proof needed to call this the worst Congress in our history. The disrespect and false attacks against a good man are reprehensible. A POX on the GOP...”

Latent Racism and the Rule of the Rich is more pertinent to our inability to make greater progress...”

“Reagan was able to lead a hostile Dem congress and Clinton was able to do the same with a republican congress, but Obama is not able to lead. It seems the guy who has been to capital hill the least of any president does not have the skills to drive consensus.”

“In my experience over 50+ years of political observation, Democrats and Republicans take turns being "the stupid party", so if you are trying to make a case for the superiority of one or the other, you will find deaf ears here.”

“Why the secrecy? Why are details STILL being held from public airing? How can any normal person, NOT believe that there was more to Kennedy's assassination than has ever been exposed or explained?
Look at the commonality of the deaths of the Kennedy Brothers, Martin Luther King and even Malcolm X. What did they have in common? They could ALL move the minds of Millions of People. And that made them "dangerous". Dangerous to who? Answer that and you have a Hot Clue as to where to look for the conspiracy.
The Zapruder film is rough, but it sure looks to me that Pres Kennedy was struck from a frontward angle at the latter part of this awful sequence...”

“Saltheplumber: the secrecy is to keep the myth alive that the US gov't,CIA, mafia, etc. had nothing to do with it. The American people aren't supposed to know that a coupd'etat occured & there is now a hidden or "shadow" gov't in charge.
People are beginning to realize that both political parties are screwing the people behind closed doors !”

“Who is being protected? Johnson is dead, Lady Bird is dead, RFK is dead, both Connallys are dead. Who else will be benefiting by keeping evidence hidden until 2029 or what ever future date was chosen.
Presumably some family's children and grand children who would be shamed if it were found that a parent or grand parent were involved in the assassination.
Whose family has generational roots grown that deeply into dirty politics to assume that it would take 50+ years and at least tow generations to wash the blood from their hands?”
“The beautiful irony here lies in the fact that the Repooplicans could leverage themselves to the top of the popularity contest by backing and passing Single-Payer HealthCare.
But they CANT! Because the Big $$ holds the strings and makes the Right-Wing Nuts dance to their tune...”

“You know, you would think that their masters, the Brothers Grim would be all for it, since it would mean more profits for all of their corporations, without the cost of health insurance. That may be what it takes to finally get it, for the corporations to demand it.”
“Dear Fascist No 78, What level income do you currently amass? It has to be personal to make sense. Are you a Lap Dog for the Rich?
All hedge fund owners and high ranking employees should pay 85% minimum. (just an example for you...)”
FederalistNo78 on Nov 19, 2013 at 20:15:53
“You're calling me a fascist? haha that's the pot calling the kettle black if I've ever seen it. And I'm currently in graduate school, so you trying to "personalize" it won't work. On that note, why are you trying to punish someone for being successful. "Personalizing" the impact of a tax burden to make it hurt is punitive and completely at odds with any theory of taxation in a free society; not to mention it's idiotic as a matter of economic policy and would be the fastest way to drive business and private enterprise from a society (thus taking away from your tax base).
Hedge fund managers are being paid in a manner commensurate to their ability to make their clients' portfolios grow. Its an extraordinarily complex field that requires a deep knowledge of the market and a deep understanding about financial instruments. The money they are paid is directly related to the size of their hedge fund, which will grow based on their own managerial success and the income of their investors.
If the manager makes 1 million per year, you really think that the rest of society is entitled to 850,000 of the money that he made without their help? Why shouldn't he keep the profit that he made? How can you possibly justify the position that society is deserves 85% of the income that a person gets from their hard earned work? Who are you to determine how much a person "deserves" or "needs"?”
