Frozen Pea Recipes For When You Can't Wait For Spring (PHOTOS)

“It makes me laugh at this reference that "people just use frozen peas for something cold for bruises"!
I have ALWAYS loved them....Saute some fresh mushrooms in butter and add peas to serve....delicious! They make a bowl of ramen noodles somewhat healthy if you sprinkle some on that bowl that is usually too hot to eat when you are starving.”

“I've adored shellfish since I was a little girl (I'm in my sixties now, and I love it more than ever). Whether it's lobster, shrimp, crab, abalone, clams, mussels or oysters, I have NEVER gotten sick from any shellfish (nor has anyone I know gotten sick from it) even when dining on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Undercooked hamburger from an outdoor barbecue has made me violently ill so I would go for shellfish any day.... and pass up the beef.”

“Ah abalone. So wonderful and so expensive (when you can find it). Many years ago I remember bringing home a verifible feast after a day diving with family members. (I know they are protected and/or regulated now). You have to be quick and somewhat crafy with these guys since they take an iron grip onto the rock when they sense danger.”

“I got a bad raw clam at an Atlanta seafood restaurant once. The resulting experience was not pleasant. That however, has never kept me away from shellfish. Mussels, clams oysters... bring 'em ALL on!”

“I couldn't believe it when you say "seafood gets ignored"....NEVER at my house! I always keep scallops, shrimp in my freezer (Trader Joe's has great frozen shellfish). I always keep at least one can of minced clams in my pantry for Linguine and White Clam Sauce. Trader Joe's has wonderful canned crabmeat which I use for salads and omelets. I use seafood as much if not more than chicken, beef or regular fish. I hated salmon all of my life until I realized how healthy it is...and discovered that if I eat it with wasabi sauce or wasabi peas (in a salad), then I like it okay.”

“Seafood never gets ignored in my home either (live near the beach). Love Trader Joe's! It is about an hour away so I keep a running list of what to buy when there. You have just given me more things for my list, thanks.”

“I love the architecture of this home! Looks like mid century modern. I'd love a house like this!”
