Will The Unemployment Disaster Be Obama's Katrina?

Will The Unemployment Disaster Be Obama's Katrina?

Commented Nov 24, 2009 at 07:18:41 in Politics

“The only thing keeping Obama from effectively dealing with unemployment (among other things), is his marked lack of the imagination one expects of true leaders. He was given a great opportunity to respond with creative intelligence to the mess Bush left us; instead, thus far he has given us more of the same old same old. This is why his presidency is failing and his opposition is poised to retake the government. He talked about change, just talked. Did he actually think we wouldn't notice?”

“Obama owes us an apology. It is insufficient to blame everything on the past, failed presidency. The man made promises, and it's high time he made good on them. At the least, he should get us out of the insane, illegal and deathly wars his predecessor lied us into. He should stop adding to the deficit on the pretense that it is necessary to save us, especially since clearly the only people being "saved" are the filthy rich and greedy CEOs who created the financial disaster we face. He should get rid of the yahoos he hired out of the financial sector since they were and remain party to the problem. He didn't stave off a depression by feeding the rich, he's been leading us deeper into one. The man made promises he couldn't keep, and seems to be in the process of selling us further out. I'm fed up.”

lemonshark replied on Nov 04, 2009 at 19:58:31

“It's OVER...9 months into his presidency he's been exposed for NOT being the agent of change, but the agent of gangster government. Do as I say or I'll find you...Believe and publish the daily message or I'll marginalize you...Pay what I say or else I'll bankrupt you. His administration represents the excesses of power, not common law or common sense. There's a pushback that's just begun, led by folks who happen to believe that Pelosi arrogance of power is something that needs to be returned to the SF locality and spurned for the national peril it has shown itself to be. Being led by Obama, Pelosi, Barney Frank, the Goldman cabal, the trial lawyers and various union thug shops, and all of the other empty suits pushing propaganda like its 1984 is a comedy of the absurd for America, now being exposed for what it is.”

Clever Screen Name replied on Nov 04, 2009 at 19:03:17

“Please stop with this. You sound like a child. Why don't you actually track where he is on campaign promises (which is always dubious at best anyway; I'm always surprised when one or two promises get kept), and then learn something about how are government actually works instead of the way you wished it would work.”

“Obama spoke today and offered absolutely nothing in the way of change. Anyone can say Wall Street needs regulation. It takes no talent, no special perception, to know this. But we should expect more from a president who claims he's for change. The evidence suggests he just doesn't know what he's doing.”

Obama Organizing Advisers Rap Health Care Push

Commented Aug 31, 2009 at 16:18:29 in Politics

“Health care is off the table. Obama has seen to that with his secret dealings. Anyone who thinks Obama is going to bring about change is a fool. He's already proven he doesn't care about us now that we've given him our votes. Well, it won't happen again.”

Zombeaver replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 19:10:35

“Sang, you may be right. They may be more interested in maintaining their edge in campaign contributions from corporations. I think this is the dirty little secret of the health care debate. If Rahm has convinced Obama that it is more important to stay in power than to actually lead and risk losing power, then health care reform is D.O.A.”

My Doctor Says: Get a Boob Job

Commented Aug 19, 2009 at 09:16:09 in Living

“I have yet to meet a doctor who wasn't in it for the money. Example: At the urging of a primary provider, I had a test. I paid the doctor $85.00 for this advice and had the test, for which I also paid (via insurance). Then, the specialist who administered the test asked me to come in to go over the result. At his office, I didn't even have the chance to sit down. I was charged $85.00 to hear him say "The test was negative." This is the state of medical practice in the U.S. Money, money, money.”

hp blogger Roni Zeiger replied on Aug 19, 2009 at 13:17:41

“Fortunately, I know many doctors who are not in it for the money, including those my family sees at PAMF. I think one of the biggest challenges ahead of us making it easier for those doctors to practice the way they believe is best.”

“Americans lack the intelligence to do what you suggest. Otherwise the U.S. would have had a stellar system in place years ago. Evidence suggests it is not "the greatest country in the world," though perhaps once, it was - almost. The issues, by the way, are not health care reform. That's only become a mechanism to vent the outrage Americans feel at the continuing betrayal of the people by their government, which has sold everyone out for a few dirty coins.”

Angry1541 replied on Aug 17, 2009 at 10:57:56

“While the outrage includes that element, it also includes h8red to anything liberal--there is an honest fear on the part of small (and dwindling) segment of population that fears anything sounding like progressive social changes.

The rhetoric of the 1950s against socialism still rings in the ears of a generally older demographic, even if the many countries have implements successful social programs and countries believed to the 'socialistic' (ie USSR) were not socialist in any true meaning of the word.

We learned a lot from the Nazi government--most particularly is the effective use of propaganda.”
