“If women want to make a statement they can start by not supporting the movie industry. They have the choice to NOT go to the movies.”

“I'm suggesting that the inequality in the industry (which like most gender inequality is unintentional) certainly isn't keeping women out of the theaters in general. If there was a problem, women would just stop going, no?”

“Yet the lead characters are still white. Come on now.”

“Apparently you don't remember Tiana, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Yes, the first few Disney princesses were white. Keep in mind that from the time Dinsey as a film studio began up through the mid 90's, a non-white Disney princess was probably out of the question. Do you really think general audiences of the 1930's would have paid to see a black Snow White or a general 1980's audience to see a Mexican Ariel.
It's like I said before. It's easy for people to roll their eyes at real racial discrimination when things like recent Disney movies are nit-picked to find racism that is not there. As a biracial woman, I am not offended that two of the most recent princesses (Rapunzel and Merrida) are white, and I'm certainly not offended that these two new ones are either.”
“Right ? same thing happens with Dakota Fanning or my own kids my oldest will be 27 soon yet in my mind I still picture him as my 5 old hanging on to me so I would not leave when i dropped him off at school.”
“I know1 Her idea of feminism is the right to twerk in front of millions of viewers. She pushed the edge of taste, but her performance was hardly original or ground breaking. did she think women haven't been performing as sexual objects for men for thousands of years? Did she never see Tina Turner perform (Now THAT is a feminist AND a great entertainer). Did she never hear of Karen Finley? No- Miley gives herself too much credit.
“We're not celebrating in Pakistan because these drones shouldn't kill thousands of innocent children at the cost of terrorists. How many kids have become orphans thanks to the U.S. drones? How many media outlets continue to ignore the fact that Obama's drones are no different from Al-Assad's missiles. Murder is murder.
And if the U.S. thinks it's justifiable to kill kids at the cost of finding one criminal, then how different is America from the Taliban?”
“ohh please...I E Ds kill many more innocent people...tell the Taliban and terrorists to stop using I E Ds to kill women..children and americans...then maybe..just maybe...we will stop using drones..after all ..drones are just a very much more selective and complex I E D device..keep them flying”
