Maybe you should address that to the net person making a "teabagger" reference?”

“Apparently you do if you're Warren. She dumped her HS sweetheart to hook up with a distinguished alumnus in 1980, and was the ONY law faculty hire not from a Top Ten law school.( coincidentally, just about the time Harvard was fading heavy heat for "lack of diversity" in its law faculty).”

It will mean Republicans have been shown the door and employment prospects won't be nearly as bleak as if Mitt and the wrecking crew got another swipe at raiding the national treasury and further damaging the economy.”

Elizabeth Warren just doesn't have "very little" provable native American ancestry, she has NONE.

Yet she's listed as "minority faculty" and presented herself numerous times as "native American" during her time in academia. She's a proven liar. Good luck with that.”

CoronaDischarge on May 19, 2012 at 18:50:50

" The document, alluded to in a family newsletter found by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, was an application for a marriage license, not the license itself."

There is precious little difference between the two of these. The woman's name was after all O.C. Sara Smith which looks to me most likely to have been an anglicization for a non anglicized name or else the designation of Osage Cherokee. Since it is handed down to her through family lore, incidentally supported by this PowWow Chow book, which, for better or worse, indicates others of her family also believe they have Cherokee blood. Suggesting that she does not have any blood quantum of Cherokee looks specious.

Moreover, Turley's article itself has more to do with the lack of standards in academia relating to making minority claims by the schools themselves. Nowhere is there any evidence that she herself ever sought to advantage herself, for indeed she has not. The power of her works has ably propelled her throughout her career, ... apparently as you will soon be able to see, in her upcoming Senate career next January.”

Toonguy on May 19, 2012 at 17:24:35

“Re-read the last paragraph. Follow the links. Warren has NEVER PERSONALLY identified herself as anything other than "white" and has NEVER requested minority status when applying for a job.”

“Manning wasn't some draftee who wound up conflicted about his military assignment. He was a volunteer who completed TS and SCI security training, understood the potential laws and punishments for his actions, and chose, in a very spiteful manner, to do as much deliberate damage to the U.S. and the military as possible in retaliation for what he saw as sleights against his sexual orientation.
The whole,"I did it for the greater good" narrative was fed him by those who sought to use his tantrum to their advantage in furtherance of their own anti-US agenda.
Want to call him a hero? Martyr? Fine. Problem is, to TRULY be a martyr, you have to suffer the consequences of your actions. Throw away the key....”

A Landslide Election

Commented Aug 19, 2012 at 09:26:25 in Politics

“"...populism, protectionism and isolationism. "

These approaches have failed miserably whereever they;ve been taken. An example would be Brazil, which crippled its economy for over a decade in the 1990's by forbidding the import of any computer component that could "potentially" be manufactured in Brazil. The result was a nation where you could only by a VIC-20 processor until 2002.

Notably, Argentina is now experimenting with a return to these failed measures, and their currency has plummetted in value, and inflation, until recently under control, is now skyrocketing to the point that currency-sniffing dogs are being employed at the border to prevent capital flight.

Re-branding failed policies as "enlightened" versions won't keep them from failing.”

Only thing is they you will ruin the economy of that country by pulling out the MILITARY PERSONAL they lose a lot of money locally from all that MILITARY PERSONAL spending THERE and not HERE.”
