Rick Warren, Obama? Really?!?!
Commented Dec 21, 2008 at 09:03:41 in Politics
“Jay, if I was looking for compassion and understanding I wouldn't come here. You can see I don't get it here. I am only trying to state how dangerous this type of language is. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the man who shot me and killed my loved one was doing it because he feels gay people aren't worthy of life. He was laughing when he shot us. I wonder where he learned that homosexuals deserve to be shot? From his peers? His family? His church? I speak out because of my experience. If I can say one thing to keep this from happening to another human being, I will speak. Would you like to explain to my lover's son why you think my statement is tit for tat?”

“I wrote a reply, but it didn't get posted for some reason. I am at work right now so can't really post a long response. Suffice it to say that I understand you point a little better, but what I was calling tit for tat is when you take Charmed's comments of "These gay people are killing me" to mention what happened to you and Matthew Shepard and made it sound like Charmed was as you said; "making statements of hate." I can understand your point, but I can bring up that my girlfriend of 13 years was brutally beaten, as was I, because I am black and she is white. You took the one comment and was the only thing about Charmed's post you commented on. I understand the what you are saying however that people like Rick Warren are fueling that hatred and allowing other people to commit these acts and hide behind their religion.”
JayHorus replied on Dec 23, 2008 at 20:54:50
“I can fully understand your points, now that you fully explained them. I was talking about the fact that Charmed said: "These gay people are killing me" and you came back with hate crimes being comitted against you and other homosexuals. That is what made it a tit for tat. "Killing you? No we are the ones dieing here." Some one could as easily came back to you and said "Yeah? well I am Jewish what do think I suffered?" or "Yeah? I am black what do think I suffered?" or even "Hey I am Native American...you want to talk about suffering??" I do agree with you, just saying that you took her comment out of context and that is what I saw as being the tit for tat game. Now as far as Rick Warren? I agree Rick Warren is a man that preachers that homosexuals aren't even real people. He doesn't hate gays, because he doesn't see them as being really human so there for has no real feelings for them one way or the other. The same thing was said about black people in this country and was used as a justification to kill and enslave an entire people.”

“"Now the Bible says that a man shall not lie with another man. That is true."
Yes the Bible says that... It was written for straight men! People didn't know anything more about homosexuality back then than the Bible thumpers of today! Back when these things were written there was no understanding of homosexuals, science, etc. Yes, people who use these words to hurt others in the name of God aren't Christians at all, but hate filled hypocrites who need somebody to direct their anger and fear toward. I take solace in knowing that every person who hates another person for being different is just afraid of who they are. And anyone who judges another is going to hell... period.”

“Scotty Bob,
You need to open up the Old Testament and read about the disappearnce of the cities of Sodom and Gomarroh. You can pretty much bet that the sin of homsexuality was condemned by God. Here is this wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/rg/wiki/Sodom_and_Gomorrah
Where do you think that the US states got the word to outlaw sodomy from if it wasn't from the Bible? Sodomy was outlawed in practically every state in the Union until the anti-constitution Supreme Court overstepped their authority and proceeded to tell the states what to do. Insofar as regarding this abomination that men engage in, there were two cities taht were wiped off the face of the earth for engaging in this nonsensical practice. That message was not sent by the timid preachings of Rick Warren but by the God of Abraham!”

“If you do not judge another person, you will not survive in this world. If you are walking in a dangerous area due to "not judging", you get hurt of killed. If you do not judge people then you associate with those that would harm you or lead you into trouble.
It is amusing the liberals accuse Christians of hate when they point out that homosexuals are leading a destructive lifestyle (similar to a gambler, alcoholic or addict), but when homosexuals attack Christians for speaking in an area populated by homosexuals, the same people applaud and say the Christians deserve it. Why are you so offended by Jesus's teachings, is it because it tells us that you will have to answer for your actions?”

“Gay people are killing you? Lady with all due respect, doing some research might open your eyes to the opposite. Ever hear of hate crimes? Matthew Shepard? Click the link and see what I experienced... before you go making statements of hate... put yourself in the shoes of people who are in fact being killed for being gay.

“You know Charmed didn't mean "killing me" in that manner and if you wasn't so hypersensitive, even if you have a reason to be so, you would acknowledge that. So please don't start the tit for tat game; it doesn't help your argument as there are always people that have suffered more than you. When doing what you just did in this type of conversation, it removes any compassion or support you may have received otherwise.”

It is only the gays who are murdered who get the press. The other victims of gay violence get none.”

Obama will be a great leader. In time, uneducated Americans follow his lead. I feel he could not fully disclose his position on gay issues before the election. I can't wait to see how he reaches out to us.”
