“As someone who is heavier but doing something about it... (Ever heard of CrossFit and The Zone?) it's not always as easy as you say. You are right about people bashing others as being insecure. We've all done it. Even skinny people have done it. Thing is, you must have some issue you have to work on daily. Nobody is immune.

My deal just ends up making me fat. What does yours do you to you? So you know what I've done about it after all these years? FINALLY I got some therapy to deal with why I do this self sabotage thing. Just like any other addiction, it takes getting low enough (and realizing it), THEN it takes tackling it in the right order. I feel like at this point (after over a years's worth of therapy) that my head is finally in the right spot and I am forcing myself to deal with ugly emotions rather than eat them away. You know what though, not everybody gets there- and it's sad. Not everybody can do it because dealing with your ugly stuff is scary. Some just don't bother.

Out of everyone that I thought was judging me, I was my OWN worst judge. Self hate is a terrible thing to live with and it's crippling for many-like it was for me for a very long time. So while your "do something about it" is not a bad thing to think, it's not always that simple.”

“Um, millions of people are not "in the club" but are being dictated by the "club" of what they can and cannot do based on the clubs rules.

The meaning of UNWANTED pregnancy is having sex minus the INTENTION of having a child. So are you saying that they rythm method you employ or pulling out early is also to be considered "impeding pregnancy?"

Stupid. People need to get half a brain already and stop living based on a BOOK OF STORIES. It wasn't written by Jesus people! It's a BOOK OF STORIES!!!! Nothing more. I'm MOST certain you don't adhere to many, many other things in the Bible. This is just the most convenient and most financially backed.”

“People always lead into something about McCain stating how much they respect his service so don't tell me that he's not received that. To tell me that his children in the military don't receive special treatment would be ridiculous. McCain himself received special treatment b/c of who his dad and Grandfather were. Sure he was a POW, got it. We've all been beaten up with it.

Bad behavior then and now doesn't diminish the POW status but it doesn't change the fact that we're afforded a commentary on his terrible behavior. And for that matter, his wife's since she's injected herself into this and subsequently lied (moreso omitted) her own husbands failure to support the troops.”

I'm of the same opinion that if you're still hanging out and just "can't decide" you're clearly not paying attention.”

dawlishgal replied on Oct 08, 2008 at 11:49:10

“I'm not sure it is a good idea to force people to vote who aren't willing to do the good hard work of finding out the candidates' policies and applying them to their own lives and what works for them. It is kind of horrifying to see the McCain sign on the lawn the people down the street with the 7 kids, the ones with the unkempt house and 5 cars parked on what ought to be their lawn. Don't they know that their chance of getting good educations for all of those kids and of having health insurance for those kids if they are suddenly unemployed will be lessened if their guy wins. These are the one-issue voters..the ones who are led around by the nose by Republicans pretending that they care a hoot about the abortion issue. What is abundantly clear is that they don't care at all about the already born. One would think that alone would be enough for those who think that their own genes are so valuable that they have to replicate them many times over, but it isn't.”

NuOrigin replied on Oct 08, 2008 at 11:39:08

“Some people see through cloudy glasses. I know Christians who are voting purely on abortion and Gay rights issues, believing that McCain gives a hoot. He is for power, money to the wealthy and that is it. War fits in there somewhere, though.”
