Christian Leaders Scapegoat Gays on Marriage

Commented Nov 25, 2009 at 16:28:19 in Politics

“No one is forcing churches to do anything. All marriages are at "the state level".”

Leatherhelmet replied on Nov 25, 2009 at 17:52:49

“That is not true. States are using non-discrimination laws to force those who don't believe in gay marriage/civil unions to apply.

New Jersey is trying to force Methodists to have ceremonies on Methodist property.

There is also a case in New Mexico with a Christian photographer being fined by the state for refusing to photograph a "commitment" ceremony.”

Keep Going, Republicans! You're Doing Great!

Commented Oct 22, 2009 at 19:16:49 in Politics

“I am different than Glen Beck because I don't make things up. Also, I am unaware of any actions I took in 1999 to cause the subprime mortgage crisis.

I am also curious as to why, if Bush and the Republicans were so concerned about the "subprime crisis", they didn't do anything about it in the six years they had the White House and Congress.

If you really believe that there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans, if you really believe we'd be in the same mess we're in if Gore had won in 2000, there is truly nothing I can say to you.”

hahaha -- the second sentence disproves your first sentence. You have the same insulting trash mouth as Beck (and Limbaugh)

Democrats caused it. Specificaly the liberal ones.

>>>I am also curious as to why, if Bush and the Republicans were so concerned about the "subprime crisis", they didn't do anything about it in the six years they had the White House and Congress.

laughing harder -- I gave you links to the video and said if you can't do that then you're no different than the GOP death panelists -- so you proved me correct.

The link gives you actual C-Span videos of the Bush administration trying to regulate and the Democrats fighting it. I give you the NY Times predicting ***in 1999*** that Clinton's pressure to increase subprime mortgages cold cause a total collapse like we saw in the 1980s.

But you refuse to even LOOK AT IT!!!

>If you really believe that there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans,

I never said such a stupid thing. I said if you --- did what you just did -- then YOU are no different than the GOP death panelists. (In denial of evidence) aka knee-jerk partisanship,.

But thank you for playing.

“You proudly identify yourself as a member of a party currently defined by fruitcakes. Rather than go after the people who (correctly) point that out, perhaps your time would be better served going after the fruitcakes.

As a Democrat, and as a liberal, I am really, really tired of being blamed by Republicans for every wrong imaginable, including, now, the fact that the Republican party is dominated by people who should be in psych hospitals under close observation.

You want to blame someone? Look in a mirror. It's your party. Don't blame us if you're having a bad time.”

And you are different from Glen Beck because ........

Get some guts and take ownership for causing the subprime collapse, exactly as predicted by the NY Times in 1999. Last time I checked the Times was not a GOP mouthpiece, and actual c-span videos are not part of the vast rightwing conspiracy, so you'll need a different excuse this time.
