“PAYE, legalised theft from the middle and lower classes who have no option of dodging anything and the best one yet we all get duped with is VAT on petrol/diesel taxed on tax.”

“Sick...you can opt out of PAYE just tell your employer you wish to do your own this is perfectly legal trouble is it is too easy for people to let their bosses do it for them ...but if everyone did and was a bit late in paying what a shock the Gov would get as the gravy would dry up quickly, HMRC would go into melt down chasing everyone and hey presto a newer easier more fair system would need to be very quickly set up to appease people and get them paying again as for VAT you are right paying taxes out of money that is already taxed just like savings taxed on the interest from money you have saved after tax and capital gains making money of a property you paid for (after tax) and with interest??? Lawful rebelion is what is needed a start is to stop paying the BEEB it will give you a warm glow and set you off down the right path!”
“I seem to remember the economy was improving under Liebor too then nosedived under the Tories into an almost triple dip depression never before achieved by a chancellor. Meanwhile Ozzy in his wisdom pumped billions more worthless bits of paper into the "economy" devaluing the pound, creating inflation and boosting the "debt" to double what Labour left us with. Smoke and mirrors mate, if you have any sense buy something which will either retain or increase in value as just like every other country in this ponzi scheme of debt based currency we are going down and it wont be pretty once the hordes are hungry.”
“When they were kicked out the last time they were known as the "nasty party" but this lot have surpassed themselves and I cant think of an appropriate adjective, needless to say these greedy toffs have never had the wellbeing of this nations people anywhere near the top of their list of priorities, proven by who they give tax cuts to as soon as they get in and their failure to address tax loopholes. The bigger problem is that when they do get the boot for a number of years you then have a new crop of voters to convince of how absolutely horrible this party is for the majority.”
“Any rigger/ex able seaman/rope access tech could sort this, I doubt very much the people running Heathrow phoned Billy Smart for advice but then again they proved their worth with the snow issue not too long ago.”
“Rather than concentrate on taking cash from road users I think the better idea would be to instruct cyclists who have placed themselves in dangerous positions at these junctions, but no, as usual someone has seen yet another way of taking money out of road user pockets is what I was driving at so really has nothing to do with safety but a lot to do with collecting cash.”
“Yeah, ban the lorries whose road fund license, insurance and MOT is through the roof, whose drivers have to undergo refreshing their licenses regularly and who deliver all those goodies the London consumer gets to waste their cash on, sounds like a bad plan to me.
I'd also like to understand the 650 cash collectors at junctions, are they being positioned to aid safety or just another revenue scheme for councils who won't repair roads, provide cycle lanes or even empty the bin weekly though they are rewarded handsomely with each residents council tax payment, oh sorry I forgot, thats to pay the council employees a spiffing pension and ridiculous wages for management, how remiss of me.”

“If lorry drivers do get bans or fines from a greater police presence, they still have to break the law, the police can't just hand them out for no reason. I'd also assume the police can hand out on the spot fines to cyclists for running re lights etc, this won't be a focus on vehicle users alone.”

“So what happened to the loan terms that till you earn X amount theres nothing to repay and if you dont earn said amount the loan is written off after X years, or did these defaulters know another way around repayment like not taking a PAYE job.
I'm not understanding this one as these are the terms of the SLC/government so is this another U-turn of sorts to hit the lowest paid yet again.”
“If anyone believes these companies wont collude with their respective governments they are beyond naive. If you have a secret to keep just keep it offline, in fact keep it away from computer programs altogether. These boxes/phones/ipads etc report home as soon as they're turned on.”
“What, you mean the 260 years where England pilfered what they fancied throughout Scotland, where almost every Laird has his families roots in Southern England. England has been a yolk around Scottish necks long enough, oil or no oil, who gives apart from the likes of yourself who fear losing something in the handover and if not, then why are you so against a legitimate country being in control of her own destiny. Scotland will go from strength to strength if she casts aside the muppets we are forced to endure in the UK parliament.”

“So the nats only chance is history, what small little bigots.”
“Wastemonster wouldn't be making such a big deal out of this if Scotland weren't going to benefit from it, squandering oil billions for forty years by parliament is just something they'll have to get used to and good luck to the nationalists on it.
The pic above is something else Scotland is likely to lose by remaining as part of the UK, wastemonster forced all industry to the wall south of the border, at least Scotland still has something to be proud of.”
fred cavanagh on Nov 24, 2013 at 08:16:43
“What about the other 260 years when Scotland did not have oil,and in twenty or thirty years time when it dwindle to a trickle?”
“My thoughts on the subject precisely mate, its a disgrace that even by law of averages that so few have opposing views on this matter, I even expected a similarity to the Syria intervention where the vote was pretty even but these figures just don't add up, they're definitely on a promise and we need rid of the lot of them.”
“I doubt very much anyone is longing to be "knocked down" or to knock somebody down, collisions with cars will be mostly through driver or rider observation skills being way down in the pecking order but as most of these accidents have occurred with HGV/Buses then cyclist stupidity has to be the case, these large vehicles have massive blind spots to stay safe you need give them a wide berth and not hide from their drivers along the inside or under the mirrors of such vehicles, they will not see you.”
sussex2 on Nov 22, 2013 at 09:41:23
“But hiding from vehicles is a national trait.
How often are children told to 'quick run across the road' and/or run out from behind parked cars.
How many drivers wishing to overtake another vehicle hide behind it rather than taking a position where they can see past the thing.
It's endemic and accounts for a lot of trouble on our roads.”
“Apart from reducing rates in our high streets we need turn our backs on the supermarket monstrosities who no longer are VFM and take our pennies back to the high street and local business/markets which I've been doing since these tories got in, I don't spend half as much on food these days though it does take longer.”
“Some of the crap they come up with they must be on acid, the ODA they increase each year while people here queue at foodbanks being a prime example of drug induced generosity, I can just see them partying on acid, "Peace man, space program India, hey man, take some of this 12 billion sterling to get spaced out, we don't need it in the UK we've got Hs2"”

“Congrats to CC, a fellow countryman who tells it as it is, with her dough she doesn't give a sh*t what you think, who she shags or how envious you are, she's got it made for life and can have a great night out in a real town whenever she likes supping Newcy brown ale if she sees fit, we need more like her.”
“Being knocked out of the world cup early can only be described as a bankers bonus, our overpaid circus performers should be ridiculed not applauded for the last 40 odd years of disgrace, the knockout can't come soon enough for those of us who suffer televised football for 9 months of a year with the other three spent by knowledgeable pundits giving us an earful of their take on this rubbish.”
