A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to Talk About Afghanistan

Commented Oct 15, 2009 at 22:34:48 in Media

“Why do we have to even talk about it after he's found? It's a non-story. He was never in danger, who the hell even cares then. Attention, breaking news, something almost happened, lets have 4 people talk on a panel about it for no reason...sheesh.”

“Wow Ed got pretty angry, talking over Arianna and stuff. Arianna should ask these types of questions, I just read that Huffpo's site traffic is now higher than the washington post. Arianna is one of the big players now and it's great she's using that opportunity to point out fake news.”

Movie review: Funny People

Commented Aug 03, 2009 at 15:31:00 in Entertainment

“It's a shame you'd pick this movie to bag on, there's so much crap coming out these days. This movie actually tries to have real characters with real emotions, unlike most of the comedy crap coming out these days. Oh well.”

“The release of these photos almost feels apocalyptic. Rape? Raping women? Our military? Our "troops" we are supporting.

I'm sorry but I say we prosecute any troops involved. Prosecute everyone. And if Obama doesn't do anything about this, when he's voted out of office, we prosecute him.”

“Why are you assuming that the victims are women, Snowspot?”

Joethepauper replied on May 28, 2009 at 17:40:02

“Yup! Prosecute everyone involved. If it leads to Bush or Cheney facing the same type of punishment as Saddam Hussein, so be it. If Obama allowed it beyond Jan. 20, he should be tried also. We need to send a message to the world that this isn't who we are, and the best way to show them is to show Bush and Cheney being frog-marched in handcuffs on their way to war crimes trials. There is still a team of thugs in GITMO doing the same things, and if Obama knows about it, he's culpable. Besides the rapes, there are reports of gasoline and benzene enemas and a 12 year old boy being raped. If this is true, the people who ordered, justified, oversaw, and carried-out these war crimes need to be punished or removed from this planet for good. I don't care if they have families, the people they did these things to had families too. Get rid of war criminals and economic criminals before it's too late. If I was a detainee and someone treated me this way (or even a milder way), even if I wasn't a terr0rist before that event, I damn sure would be one after the event. Mother Theresa would want revenge, and when the next attack happens the "why" question is less nuanced this time. Will our allies be cheering this time? I guess it depends on the depravity depicted in the photos.”

“First, who said it was the rape of women? Second, the horr.ible person doing the raping is disgusting enough, but WHO THE FU.CK TOOK PICTURES AND WHY!!!!???? There are some seriously twisted and wrong people in this story.”

“Is your job commenting on Alec Baldwin's work? Why not leave it up to the professionals? Stick to your day job.

Now do you see how your comment doesn't make sense? Just because someone is an actor doesn't mean they can't have an intelligent opinion.

If anything, a really good actor is able to empathize with others in a way a politician couldn't.”

Michael Jackson's Disturbing Poem

Commented Mar 08, 2009 at 15:03:14 in Home

“I don't think it's creepy, I find this poem pretty sad. MJ is obviously messed up and he imagined having a life where he never grew up and he'd always be a kid....

I think everyone can look at him and see how we need to let go of the past or it consumes us.

:-x”

MyAudacity replied on Mar 08, 2009 at 16:38:47

“What's sad is his life is mixed up, and he tried to repair it by damaging other children.

I'm sure if they explore his early childhood they will find that he was sexually abused, often.”

“A soft caress and a loving kiss...
Please, let's put this to the test right now.
Let's say YOU have a nine year old son or daughter, and I'm the guy who is installing your kitchen cabinets.
I see your kid and straightaway I say out loud that I want to share a soft caress and a loving kiss with them. Do you:

A) Fetch the shotgun, point it at me, empty the clip, reload and empty the second one, and the call the police

OR

B) Smile and sweetly say, "well, I see the two of you'd like to share some quality time, so why don't I just go find something to do and let you two be together for a while."

What? I'm NOT Michael Jackson? What the phuque does THAT have to do with anything?”

If giving gays the same rights as everyone else annoys you, maybe you're on the wrong side of reality.”

“This whole Rick Warren thing has ruined my excitement for Obama.

For someone like Harvey, who is gay, this is the worst way to start Obama's presidency. It's just sad. I have to say, if Obama isn't for gay marriage I probably won't be supporting him. I'm so sick of the whole debate, either give people the right to do what they want or admit gays are second-class citzens. It's all because of ignorance too. It's like Obama is promoting ignorance with this choice.

The rights of the minorities should not be voted on by the majority!”
