“You know that tired old Waterloo argument? Well Republicans should be a bit concerned right now for they are being revealed for who they are--insensitive dollar chashers. They are looking for funding at every turn. When they had the power in the White House they politicized every thing at every opportuinty, for their only concern was staying in power. And even with that they could not manage to keep America in even OKAAAAAYYY shape. They blew it. You know why? Because they are not very good at governing. The reason? Because they have no concept of WE NOT ME. Their intent is only their own perpetuation.
Their money chashing greed is the Republican Waterloo.

I sincerely pray that Senator Lincoln will do what is right for her nation and stand on the principles of personal sacrifice for the sake of the greater good. I think that the Senator may be surprised by the people who would support that decision—even honor that decision—and she may discover that moral principles actually win elections.”

“Personal sacrifice for the greater good? How much extra do you volunteer to pay in taxes each year? There is no law that says you can't pay more each year than required, for the greater good.
Ironically, this bill will not be for the greater good. It will help pay for coverage for some that don't have it now, who are the vast minority, but will result in higher costs and less service for the vast majority who do have health insurance. How is that helping the greater good?”

“Marriage is a CIVIC ceremony and our country has consciously separated church and state. Therefore the church should stay out of CIVIC matters unless they want to give up their tax exempt status. If people want to get married in a church, that church has the right to deny them if they are gay, but our country is a secular country by the dictates of the Constitution and the legal rights afforded to married couples should be afforded to ALL legal partnerships--period. If you don't like gay marriage, don't marry a gay person.”
