Gosh you are blinded. Joe is only interested in one thing and that is Joe. If you are following his state. Mine you I mean his state and his district they want public option. Joe doesn't have the interest the of majority. The majority in his state want public option.”

“As one of his constituents I confirm what SouthernYankeeBelle has said. Lieberman is insane. We have a public option here in CT, something he might know about if he ever bothered spending time here. the latest poll showed 74% of Connecticut Residents support the public option. When you have Aetna, Health Net, et al in his backyard, yes it is what you think it is - he is bought and paid for. The only thing he will be running for in 2012 is the phone book to call some movers.”

“Yes by god stop the socialist spending spree. But whatever you do don't stop the socialist spending spree for big business, bankers and wall streeters. God forbid if the country should help the people. We had 8 years of Bush and company ruining the country by giving socialist handouts to republicans and giving the shaft to the citizens. Go figure you want him to give a break to big business so they can send their jobs overseas. You sure are a winner. So lets all elect President Palin. Since this president took office the republicans have done nothing. So go ahead and bring back the republican teabaggers. Lets see what you get then.”

“Why is the government spending money considered socialism? Regardless of the defecits, how does government spending equate to the political economy known as socialism?
Is defense spending socialism under this definition?
The US Constitution permits Congress to spend money.
Is the US Constitution a socialist blueprint for govrnment?”

“I am so disappointed in President Obama. He doesn't have the backbone I was hoping for. I have e-mailed this president and told him that people really want a robust public option. I won't settle for anything less. It isn't for me I want it because I am old and have good insurance but I am worried for the people who don't have it or the people who do have it can't afford it. Something has to be done. I have let Reid's office know that all this yapping they are doing means nothing unless we get a robust public option. I will not vote for a democratic who does not support a robust public option. I sick and tired of them all. Congress, the senate and the white house has put big healthcare insurance ahead of the people and that is terrible. You can see the money flowing in both parties and it stinks to the max. They are worried about re-election. I am going to sing to my representative "All your bags are packed ready to go, its time to leave"”

“Belle, Icompletely share yoursense ofoutrage @Lieberman + bludogDemocrats. Lieberman willbe left twisting inthe wind by himself with no support if Democrats gain anotherfew SenateSeats 2010. Bludogs are Democrats inname only, since they display none of core beliefs of democratic liberal philosophy and tradition. They'd be replaced eventually in primaries, or whipped into shape by astronger Majority Leader than Reid.
Passivity + timidity of Democratic majority inthe population and inthe House + Senate can be explained by what's happened inpast 30years since Reagan --- lack of organization and burning issues. BOTH are necessary:--
Traditional Democratic organizational infrastructure, peoplepower and core beliefs built around LaborUnions havebeen effectively dismantled when Reagan began undermining unionism by executive and legislative assaults, and scattering dispirited union members by (sometimes not) cheap "replacement (scab) workers". (I've seen freelance replacement nurses flown across the country, housed in hotels, just to break legitimate hospital nurses' strike.)
Many traditional burning issues have been skillfully and systematically diffused by powers in and behind government. The VietnamWar latter stages in late 1960's was a burning issue, because every city, town, congressional district had hundreds and thousands of war casualties made conspicuous by theDraft. In Iraq + Afghanistan, the war casualties have been privatized to volunteer armedforces + militia (NationalGuard) and outsourced to highpriced mercensaries (literally fromaround theworld). Taxes and nationaldebt have skyrocketed, but they couldn't be tied directly to the wars in minds of the public majority.
That's oversimplication, ofcourse, but that accounts for lack of organized overt outrage in the streets and in”
