Politicans Before the People, Always

Commented Dec 29, 2009 at 10:09:25 in Politics

“Oh how about those high and mighty doctors like Brasso, and the other one (right now his name I forget but he is an OBGYN doctor (so called minister on the side) from OK or TX who is a member of the great organization of The Family house. He is Ensign's spiritual advisor and therefore refused to talk about money Ensign gave to his girlfriends family. Now that is family values we really can believe in. I don't care what these people do when they get into congress or the senate. They all come in with good intentions and all they do is collect the money from corporations. They leave what honor they had at home.”

Goldman Brazilian Nightmare Over: Father and Son Finally Reunited

Commented Dec 26, 2009 at 23:15:20 in World

“My son fought for equal custody. His lawyer (female) said they things might have to get ugly and was he ready to go there. Lucky he didn't have to because she didn't have the money to fight what was legally his right to. She had another child at 16 yrs old. That father wasn't interested but his mother was and made sure he got to see his child. He see his child every other weekend. My son and his ex each have a week at a time switch on the weekends. He is a better father than she is a mother. Since they divorce 3 yrs ago she has been in and out of relationships that are troubled. She and my son married, but she really wasn't ready to marry. It scares us to see what the children go through with these relationships she has. My son hasn't dated much. His child comes first. He has asked her not to bring guys into the childrens life unless she is really going to make a commitment. Well she was engaged two times. I don't think she'll ever be married but it screws the children up. My son never bring a women around. She said until he knows its going to be a commitment. I think that is a good idea.”

“WOMEN OF AMERICA WHO CARE ABOUT THE ABORTION ISSUE NEED TO START ELECTING MORE WOMEN TO BE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES. WE NEED TO STOP DEPENDING ON MEN TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR WOMEN. PLUS WOMEN CAN HANDLE THE BUDGET A WHOLE LOT BETTER.”

“You bet it is. I already called Reid's office and told them they need to kick him off the chairmanship. I asked what does he have on them? I told Reid that all this yapping about nothing means nothing to the american people unless there is a robust public option. If there is none foget getting my money and my vote unless the democratic is a liberal not a blue dog.”

“First of all I would take Liberman off as chairman of any committee and do not let him into any of their caucuses. He is a rat who goes back and reports to the republicans what went on. I don't like a fence sitter. I don't care what party they are in. I didn't think it was right when republicans did it and I don't think its right when democrats do it. Then I would put pressure on the blue dogs if you don't play than you won't get any financial help from the democrats. Do exactly what the republicans do. Start putting the pressure on.”

“Right. If I am so delusional than why are the republicans kicking out all the liberals and moderates of their party. That should tell you something. The democrats are an inclusive party with different groups of people while the republicans don't believe in democracy. They want the conservative way or the highway and that my friend and that is what and why the republican party is feasting on each other. The republican party has a brain drain. Whats left are the walking talking, birthers, deathers, and racists. We democrats all come from different groups but we try to work together to get it done for the good of the people. While the republicans only say NO.”

“Well the difference is democrats have liberals, moderates and conservatives. The blue dogs are conservatives and they are the ones who are screwing around. Plus they are getting big bucks from health insurance companies. I have already wrote an e-mail to Reid and told him again that if we do not get a robust public option forget my vote in 2012. I don't want any fake option. No bill is better than what they have now. I can't believe the blue dogs have all this power. Shame on them. I told Reid I can just as easily stay home than go vote and I don't care if quitter Palin wins. I told him that both sides were nothing but a bunch corporate hacks. The people out here see for themselves. We are tired we want this bill passed with 51 votes. The republicans didn't have any problems passing their tax breaks that has ruined this country.”

“These people are so called fundamentalist christains are a new breed. They seem to believe in the Mega churchs where rich preachers get up and say god wants you to be wealthy and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't have a problem with people being wealthy. However, I think ministers and preachers should be working for the people. When you see these people on TV wearing very expensive cloths for themself and their families, flying around the world in their own jets, driving very expensive cars, their kids going to the best schools money can buy well then I am wondering where is my money going if it really isn't helping the people it should. Look at the problems Oral Roberts Jr is having. It is very troubling these people are fakes and are taking advantage of very good people who give because their feel they should. I stopped giving to any churchs. I have given to St Jude Childrens Hospital. I will call the Department of Human Services and find out what families really need. I won't go to any of the churchs because they are trying to reel them in. I am sick our government is giving churchs money.”

Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 11:00:02 in Politics

“The fact that she had more problems with her OWN party explains allot to me. Towards the end of playing Governor she couldn't hide the lies any longer. She was getting caught and to be honest we still don't know the whole truth yet. The governor that has taken her place is still holding out on the ethics charges against her. They still haven't released all the e-mail that were requested. By the way requested by citizens who have a right to know how involved the first dud was. Wheter you like her or not if I were a citizen of AK I would want to know how she was able to afford to have that nice house of her built. Some say that the company that built the rink in Wallisa provided material and help in building her home. These are questions people have a right to know. I don't care if your a republican or a democrat if there is wrong doing than they should be nailed for it. This isn't a republican or a democrat issue. We all should have our leaders be accountable.”

“The sad thing is she believes her own lies.”

Poiks replied on Nov 19, 2009 at 11:45:41

“The sad thing, to me, is that huge swaths of America believe her lies, despite the fact that an overwhelming number of the people in McCain's inner circle, and the Republicans in Alaska, are calling them lies. It's like they have their hands over their ears, chanting "LA LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"”

“Did you happen to see the long line with the 3 girls who were first in line at the book signing? There was a couple in the line and Nora O'Donell ask her woman about Palin and why she supported her. She brought up the stimulus package. She told the young woman that her and McCain supported the package. She didn't believe it. Nora reminded her that McCain went back to Washington to help straighten and get the packaged approved and she was praising him for getting it passed. She didn't realize that and really she didn't care. They just love her and they don't care if this woman is going to send them down in glory.”

Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 09:33:26 in Politics

“Duffer, You had no problems with Bush lies about sending our soldiers to die? What has Obama done wrong, oh beside being elected and trying to clean up the mess of the last president. The things that have been going on with Palin are not lies. They have been proven and you chose not to see them. I have a niece that voted for Palin and now she wished she had after the Troopergate issue. That started way before she was chosen by McCain and the person in charge was an a republican appointee. Most of the problems she has had have been with republicans. That is why she quit. She couldn't get along with her own party. Don't blame Obama. Republicans started accusing him of wrong doing before he even got his foot in the front door and it just kills you all that the man is respected by many citizens and across the world with the leaders. This thing about being a God was a republican talking point. You never heard democrats talk like that. We respect him but we sure don't think him a god. Plus he does have his falts and liberals are holding him accountable unlike the republicans who didn't hold the Bush crooks accountable.”

There are many people that would love to have you at their home if you only say something. When my husband was in the military we made it a habit to invite soldiers to our home that weren't able to go home. There are many good hearted people out there if you only will let them help you.”

“We have a small family. We will have a turkey, potato souffle, corn on the cobb, stuffing, different pies and soft drinks. We always mix a little Italian in our house. We make potato souffle that is delicious. Its made with mash potatoes, eggs, mozzarella cheese, parma cheese and cubed ham. Hmmm so good. When my whole family got together we had many friends come over and they would bring over their speciality. Every year they would award a Hockey Puck award to the one who dish was really bad. My brother-in-law made a place with an old biscuit on it. It was all in good fun and no one ever took offense to it. We all would get a good laugh. We would sit around the table for hours talking and laughing and then cleaning up. Those were the good old days.”

The Third Annual Huffington Post "Tell Us What You're Cooking For Thanksgiving This Year That You Didn't Cook Last Year"

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 17:16:08 in Style

“That is a very nice idea. My son works at Applebees and they are closed Thanksgiving day and I think Christmas Day to allow employees to be with their families. I think it is important for families to be together on those days. My husband will work at a department store Thanksgiving Night. We will eat early so he can rest because he works nights. I wanted to go visit my family who we haven't seen in over 3 yrs but he couldn't get off. He never has been off during the holidays. I think at least Thanksgiving and Christmas Day everyone should be with their loved ones. Surely this country can stop shopping for 2 days.”
