Okay, my husband and I married in the State of NY. Where ever we go across the country, we are legally recognized as being married. Is a civil union only recognized by the state the civil union took place in?”
ThunderclapNewman replied on Dec 02, 2009 at 16:51:08
The "full faith and credit" clause of the Constitution requires that each state recognize as legal marriages performed in other states (contracts and other legal transactions are covered, too.)
But the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act undermines that clause where gay marriages are concerned.
It makes _bigotry legal.”

I miss them. Around Christmas, there were performances in the lobby, puppet shows. Then the Windows of the world restaurant with those tall windows looking out over the water, you could almost look straight down. It was awesome. And you could feel it sway... plus underneath, they had stores, bars - I especially like the bar back in the day, a news station...
They should have built them back...”

So, that's why I'm all for making an amendment for banning divorce, you know, since people are so concerned about protecting the sanctity of marriage and all... :)”

I don't think she should have had to come out in this way, but if the tabloids know we're interested, they'll keep supplying it and seeking more. I don't want to give them that. I don't think they should exist.
So your response to me, should be exactly what you tell the NE - oh stop.”

With that said, what about her is different from any other heterosexual, other than who we all prefer to have sex with? If we say she's different, then we treat her differently. If we say it doesn't make her different, then what's the part, minus the sex, this is about? I don't know, that's why I'm asking...”
