“It's not new. They don't like the homeless either.

"You can't help those who simply will not be helped. One problem that
we've had, even in the best of times, is people who are sleeping on
the grates, the homeless who are homeless, you might say, by choice."
-- President Reagan, 1/31/84, on Good Morning America, defending his
administration against charges of callousness.

"People are not homeless if they're sleeping in the streets of their
own hometowns." --Dan Quayle

"When asked: What should we do about the homeless? 'Give the park
police more ammo.'" --Newt Gingrich

"You can help Sam or Sally, you can't help the class. The minute
somebody says to you, 'Let's help the homeless,' you know they don't
get it." -- Newt Gingrich Sep. 01, 1994 - from an article in Commentary Magazine

"One of the things I want to do before I die is conduct the homeless
olympics...the 10-metre shopping cart relay, the dumpster dig, and the
hop, skip, and trip." -- Rush Limbaugh

"In the next bold step of welfare reform, we will support the heroic
work of homeless shelters and food pantries. Government cannot do this
work." -- Bush in his acceptance speech at the Republican National
Convention

“I'm tired of supporting politicians in general, 'cause all they do is mooch off the system, then sit around waiting for their checks to come in. Heck, they even mooch their health, dental and vision benefits off the taxpayer.

Didn't we have a "welfare to work" program? Someone should bring it back 'cause I'm sick and tired of supporting their lazy, sorry a$$es.”

He lost his Title.

A small word on bowing in the orient. In my study of Martal Arts we bow as a gesture of respect in welcoming our opounent to allow us to perfect our techniques and abilities as we grow and learn. We bow first to the Ref in respect of the rules. It's nothing what so ever to do with demonstrating weakness. It's respect.”

“Okay, the left calling fire on Bush? Hmmm, let's look at this more closely. GWB fabricated stories to get us to invade a country, illegally listened in on our phone calls, ignored the dead and dying in Katrina, spent like there was no tomorrow and tortured people, not to mention the "crusade" he did it under.

And the right screaming Obama's a Muslim, a socialist, a Nazi...

Do you see a difference here?”

lexkw replied on Nov 22, 2009 at 12:08:30

“Hilary Clinton and John Kerry voted to go to war in Iraq and had access the same intelligence. The mayor of New Orleans and governor of Louisiana were Democrats. How are they not responsible? How about the spending currently going on by the Democratic Congress and president? Your house is made of very fragile glass.... better quit throwing the stones.”

Vaccination: A Conversation Worth Having

Commented Nov 16, 2009 at 15:21:23 in Living

“I took my youngest for a check up when she was a baby. Her pediatrician told me she needed the Varicella (chicken pox) as well as the meningitis vaccinations. I said no to both. Unfortunately, in the time between my middle and last child, NYS made the Varicella vaccination into law.

My doctor questioned me as to why I wouldn't want her to get these shots and I said that I didn't feel it was necessary putting these diseases into her. I wasn't comfortable with it. He looked at me like I had two heads. Then he told me that by state law, I didn't have a choice, I had to allow him to give her the chicken pox shot. He said it was my choice with the meningitis and didn't understand why I wouldn't. He said I would need to sign the sheet stating I refused her the shot. I did.

Now, my other kids had the chicken pox, I had the chicken pox. They were uncomfortable for a few days, but we all survived with no scarring.”

“You asked your manager about the unfairness of a CEO's compensation package? Managers are trying to climb that ladder to get to where those CEO's are. In other words, managers are the ultimate brown nosers and someone who questions them can find him or herself being handed a pink slip.

I applaud your bravery at the same time hope it doesn't bite you in the @$$.”
