“You're not includng the Pentagon's underlying costs and the costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In 2011, total defense spending was $718 billion. Not included in that are veterans benefits, which comprise 3.5% of the federal budget.
So defense costs far more than Social Security. Most important anyway, as stated above, SS's recipients have ALREADY PAID for SS. It should not be considered part of the regular budget at all. Its supposed to be kept separately, in its own untouchable lock box.”

“Why are you replying to comments made two months ago?
“Not only that, but it seems doubtful that the manager said "a white woman" in particular said she felt uncomfortable. Of course this would make the story, because it would thus be all about racism.
My take is that the woman said she and her party -- of perhaps two or four -- would have an uncomfortable meal because of the noise that would come from such a large table, comprised of any types of diners. Blacks, though, may be inclined it's about race. I'd like to see the video they took, though. Why didn't the guy post it on Facebook along with his complaints. Might be that it conflicts with his account.”
“Your argument falls apart when you consider even the obvious relationships, such as marriage. Of course, there are people who do marry totally selfish people. For some reason.”
AdmiralXizor on Aug 27, 2013 at 15:25:03
“Not even close. Marriage without a moral foundation is an extended hookup, nothing more.”

“You're thinking in terms too rigid, absolute.”
AdmiralXizor on Jul 31, 2013 at 19:09:13
“Not really. The only way it would be in any danger is if the atheist him/herself entered into such a relationship (like marriage) on self-confessed moral grounds. Are you willing to make that case? I'd like to see it.”
“Seems irresponsible for some in the press to run this story without knowing more. It happens fairly often that someone makes this kind of stuff up himself -- drawing the picture himself and painting his own car. Reasons could include a desire to seek money and/or other compensation, attention (like here), sympathy, or retribution of some sort. And this could encourage others to pull such a stunt if they feel they could get away with it.
Not saying he did it, but that Huffpo and other press should wait for an investigation.
“@STLWS and Steven... What does it say about these Trayvon defenders, who insist that if the roles had been reversed TM would now be in prison, when you bring the Roderick Scott case to their attention and they flatly ignore it?
What does it say about the TM defenders when they avoid answering the question, "What law did Zimmerman break?"
So, come on, Trayvon defenders... how about the Roderick Scott case? Should Scott have been arrested? Do you think he should be found guilty of the murder, or manslaughter, of that teen?”

“Thank you, I see no one has taken your challenge!!”
“No dispute? No dispute that Zimmerman confronted Martin? There is no evidence of this whatsoever. Rachel? She said they faced off outside the apt where TM was staying. But that was over 300 feet away.”
“I know that . . . but don't think for one minute this case isn't being used for anti-SYG propaganda. Even today, I see people in the comments section stating that Mr. Martin had a right to SYG if Mr. Zimmerman did. Time and time again, posters are saying "this is self-defense, not SYG" . . . but the anti-SYG crowd is eating it up.”
“Ding, ding, ding -- ringing my hands. Are the poor getting poorer, or are they staying about the same? What does the stuffedness of a couch have to do with anything, and isn't in front of you the best way to use a computer? Would an endless question have an infinite number of words preceding a question mark?”
