“Ive been using IG for a year now, and have really enjoyed the experience, but it's getting more and more spammy, e.g. lots of "ghost" followers who are promoting this and that. Professional advertising will just be another annoyance. I've now started using iOs Flickr, uploaded all my IG shots to it in one go, very slick. Agree with all the positive points in this article. The one weakness I see in Flickr reaching a mass audience is that the free account only lets anyone see your last 200 shots. I think it would be better to allow many more, but automatically limit the viewing resolution. Ive tried most of the other IG clones too, Flickr holds it own with them all in terms of functionality, at the same time giving you access to one of the world's great repositories of high quality imagery.”

“Yeah, the spam has indeed been getting annoying on IG. I agree.
Good point on the 200 shots limit on the free version and how that impacts reaching a mass audience etc.”
