“The FLDS polygamists and their ilk call it "bleeding the beast" and consider it a mark of honor to rip off the government in this way. They do this by lying andsaying they don't know who the daddy is, when they are "spiritually married" to him. This all came out during the Warren Jeffs deal.”

Glenn Grothman, Wisconsin Senator, Says Unplanned Pregnancies Are The 'Choice Of The Women'

Commented Mar 8, 2012 at 09:34:40 in Politics

“pregnancy and childbirth are most definitely disease states in that they drastically alter the normal functioning of the body and can result in death to both mother and child. It's unique in that it is probably the ONLY disease state that one deliberately chooses to enter into one or more times in a woman's life. But it is definitely a disease state.”

aphunkyphish on Mar 8, 2012 at 10:43:40

“the ignorance around this subject astounds me - hormonal contraceptives are a prescription drug that you cannot just run to Target and buy - one takes the pill every day, not just when one is planning to have sex, there are many medical conditions that also require the use of the pill. This issue is about employers being able to pick and choose what medications your insurance covers. Period. It is not about "the government" paying for birth control, it is about INSURANCE paying for medical care. Period.”

admnasstsd on Mar 7, 2012 at 15:25:26

“The Church has no issue with hormone prescriptions being used for medical purposes. Target & Walmart provide the Pill for $9/month and Planned Parenthood provides them on a sliding scale. This should not be a "woman's rights" issue. That's embarrassing to me as a woman. I can take care of the cost of my sex life, my food, my car insurance, my home, my life insurance, and everything else. The copay for ALL prescriptions should be the same, otherwise we are saying that as women, sex is number one on our priorities, NOT our health ... because other presecriptions have a copay (insulin, antibiotics, pain killers, antidepressants, blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, etc.)”

IDSavant on Mar 7, 2012 at 15:24:32

“Some research suggests that prolonged use of birth control pills increases the risk of certain types of cancer, such as cervical cancer and liver cancer. However, use of birth control pills also decreases the risk of other types of cancer, such as ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer.”
