“They're in close quarters, they live with people, they obviously shower with people."
And I missed this gem...what is he trying to say here that homosexual soldiers are incapable of controlling themselves unlike heterosexual soldiers? Really? So these people are sexually depraved individuals who will try to have sex with anything that walks by? Get a grip.
"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything."
Consensual sex Mr. Santorum...and yes people do have the right to have an affair and I have a polygamous relationship if they so choose. Just because you wouldn't do it doesn't mean someone else shouldn't have that right. As for incest, there are deeper issues there.”
“I would say, any type of sexual activity has absolutely no place in the military
^^^Being a military woman all I have to say to this is, Mr. Santorum we are humans are we have the capacity to love and be loved. We also have the same desires as everyone else. What do you propose that we do about our sexual desires? Take an oath of abstinence when we enlist?”

“Especially realizing that the majority of the troops are under 30. Growing up in Colorado Springs, near Fort Carson, lots of my friends dated soldiers and airmen. I would say there is no place in the military for sexual activity DURING WORK HOURS. even if work hours are days and weeks in a war zone. However, I'm fairly sure there's not much sexual activity in a fox hole or an APC. LOL”
“Honestly, I think that voters are picking the lesser of the extremists. Mitt Romney coming in just before Santorum and Ron Paul shows that the Republican party is trying to stick to its roots while also giving a clear indication that the extremism found on the right is no longer something that they want to stand for. I think that things will shift if one candidate leans too far right on any given topic. As for right now though, Mitt Romney is the clear choice. Will he beat Obama...I doubt it unless he is willing to give up on his pandering to the right and incorporate all people into his campaign which is doubtful.”

“Santorum and Paul are as extreme as anybody and finished close to the top.”
“I don't know what your point is here. Simply put, no one even hinted at that she said this until the 30's. Now everyone is taking it as fact. It is misleading since there is no historical proof from her time that she actually said it.”
“Interesting that recording doesn't need to be done using an electrical device. Many people were recorded to have said things. As in, some one wrote down what the person said at the time they said it. It wasn't attributed to her until 1931 in a Germans childrens book and has been used that way ever since.”

“Yes, and then translated into a different language, and the meaning of words can change over time. Even the meaning of the word “cake” has changed many times over the last 300 years.”
“And Columbus was contributed with many things he didn't say or do. So no I am not going to get over it. I think it is important for a Presidential candidate to get his history right. That is high school and early college stuff.”
“Hey Mitt if you want to make a fool out of the President by comparing his words to Marie Antoinette then you should probably get your history right first. She was never recorded as having ever said, "Let them eat cake". Now who is the fool?”
dan101t on Dec 30, 2011 at 10:57:31
“Interesting. I didn’t know there were any recording devices around in the late 1700’s”

“She may not have said it but she was attributed to having said it. So get over it.”

“Repubs don't even know who Marie Antoinette WAS, much less what she did or did not say...”
“Having been pregnant only a few months ago I think that this is just ridiculous. Towards the end of my pregnancy, if I moved to quickly I would put myself into Braxton Hicks. And false labor is not only uncomfortable for the mother but also puts the baby through undue stress. This woman was only minutes late, I think the officer could have overlooked that one case since I doubt that a few pounds is going to matter much to the government.”
juliewashere88 on Dec 30, 2011 at 22:06:41
“Late is late. You don't special treatment for pregnancy, especially as it's an entirely voluntary condition. If she knew she couldn't move fast, shes should have planned ahead - LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.”
Sister Bluebird on Dec 30, 2011 at 11:43:25
“Absolutely. I remember being awkward and sore and exhausted. People act like being pregnant is all roses and unicorns! Well I have news for those, it takes work to make a human being from scratch.
He might have still issued the ticket, but he could have been kinder about it. How about upholding the dignity of one's office? Jokes and humor do not have to be cruel--just saying.”

“Wait until his (Future) Wife is that far along, may she be shown the same courtesy and respect.”
“You mean to tell me that a grown man could not divert his eyes and continue on with his shopping after seeing a baby eat in the most natural way possible? Goes to show where his maturity level is. Would the site of a womans breast offended and sickened him so much if they were fully exposed and she was dancing around accepting dollar bills? Probably not.”

“So many men have to PAY to see breasts (strippers, porn, etc.) you'd think they would be happy to see one for free.”
“I know how you feel. I had my daughter in May. I had 2 weeks before I was forced to go to work. My husband had been laid off, as had I. My job was the one that called. It was go or go broke. I went, knowing it was the best thing to do though it was hard to leave her. Returning to work so quickly ruined my attempts to breastfeed which step 1 towards my sadness. The next was when I could no longer comfort my daughter & had to hand her to my husband who could quiet her cries in seconds. I felt like a failure. I worried that my daughter didn't even know me.
Time went on, we started a routine. Daddy was the day time caregiver & Mommy was the night time caregiver. I am there to give her baths & tuck her into bed. She gives me a big smile everytime she sees. She knows me. She knows that I love her because I shower her with affection every chance I get. She knows Mommy from all the people in her life.
In the beginning your baby's world is small. As she grows & develops more understanding will come & she will be able to put you into the picture as well. Now, my daughter has a bond with me & sometimes only I can quiet her cries by picking her up, hugging her & allowing her to wrap her fingers into my hair”
“I wish that I could feel this beautiful. I have always wanted my pictures done in the pin-up style and I wish that I had done something like while pregnant. I think women of all shapes, sizes and color are beautiful.”
“Hmmm...let me see, you defecating on a floor in front of me is probably against the law due to sanitation reasons and also due to indecency laws. Breastfeeding in public is protected under law. So your arguement holds no water.
As for the restroom, you do realize that when you flush a toilet that has no lid covering it fecal matter and other related bacteria are released into the air since there those particles are thrown from the toilet into the air when the water is flushed down the toilet. So yes, public restrooms that are used often are probably more filthy than a parking lot where you don't have to worry about aerosolized particles of fecal matter hanging in the air.”

“I visited their website and from what I see they want to take education and have it reflect the people they are teaching. How is that teaching hate? We are all different. I think it is detrimental to our children to teach them all the same thing when we are not all the same people. I have a feeling that powerful white men are feeling a bit threatened since their shady past is being brought to light.”
“To all those that say they don't want to see that, what is wrong with a baby eating in the most natural way possible? Are you not able to look at something else or is it impossible for you to look at something other than a breastfeeding mother? For those that tell breastfeeding women to use the restroom, how about you take your meal and eat in the bathroom? I can't believe the level of immaturity here. It is really disconcerting.”

“How would you like for me to take a dump in front of you and tell you that "IT'S NATURAL!" or tell you to just look the other way?
As for the restroom, you are exagerating. No one is asking you to make your child lay on the ground! It's probably just as filthy as these mom's feeding their kid in the filthy parking lot in front of Target.”
“I think it is high time that the people start holding those we hired to do a job responsible for their inability to do it. This needs to be a warning to all those who are in office right, we are not going to stand for your ineptness any longer. Do the job or go home.”
“Children don't think these things up over night. They are taught these things by the people around them. She has probably watched the people she has grown up around and has figured this out by what they have said to her and shown her.
And I don't know why you have to point out my use of kudos not being proper, I was keeping the post simple and short. She most definitely deserves our support and I did so by a simple kudos on the article about her.”

“Oh man, you're especially right about the 'kudos'. I'm sorry, I must have had an after X-mas stick sneak up my rec.tum.
Yeah, sure, of course the little girls has been influenced.
Jeez...I see now what a mood I must have been in.
Really, I only meant that--now that the little girl has learned--she's turned-around to teach us all about it...teach her parent, to whom she's lecturing.
