“I figure if I am passing along information that should be evaluated, I can do so without disclosing my identity -- goes for phoning in information; sending a written note or using Internet means. Some of us who witness horrific acts do not wish to be identified. That should be respected.”

“Agree with you. Doing their jobs means Anonymous need not unmask. If I call in a tip on a crime, I do not need my name recorded by Police who are listening to the information I am imparting. If I snail mail a note tipping police to a crime, I need not sign my name. Ditto for the Internet; it I can help but do not wish my identity known, what I am telling Police about a crime via any media should be evaluated.”

“Regarding Rehtaeh Parsons: My view is the victim of crime must be believed and protected by the Laws of the Land. Rape is a crime; child pornography is a crime and bullying is a crime. That this beautiful young person was bullied to death breaks my heart. I think of her Parents and extended family who will suffer her loss for the rest of their lives. I think of her dog who surely does not understand that Rehteah is never coming home. I think of the children everywhere. This should not happen. To those males who raped Rehtaeh as well as the others who bullied her : they must be held accountable. I am tired of rapists, bullies, pornographers going free.”

“Have you personally visited North Korea and had tours of their prisons? Or do you as most likely an American, just believe this is fact?”

“@cynicalolelady

I did not advocate the teacher use her sunscreen on a student; rather my view is a thinking adult can find a way to protect children from sunburn. Let the student use her own sunscreen or is the student has none, find shelter from the sun for the student. Just don't let any student get a sunburn. The photo of the girls shows seriously sunburned skin.”

“In my mind, "a thinking adult can find a way to protect children from sunburn" is nowhere close to defying the law. I agree there probably were other possibilities. Defy, the word you use, means openly challenge, or resist.”

“My view is the teachers should have defied the rules. Common sense should have been the order of the day. Sunburns cause harm to the skin. We can't know today what will be the result for these young girls when they are older. Years ago, my son got severely sunburned at summer day camp. He is very fair-skinned. I had instructed the adults in charge that he could not be without a) sunblock b) a hat and c) needed to wear a T-shirt when swimming. Once very hot, humid day he got severely burned because the swimming coach said "boys don't wear Tshirts in the pool". I was outraged then for him and outraged that this has happened in 2012 to these girls.”

“Easy for you to say. So the teacher defies the rules, lets the kid use her sunscreen, the kid has an allergic reaction, and the teacher gets fired. Forget it.”
