Man of the People

“I don't like Jack Cafferty and I refuse to watch him. I did tolerate him when he was on the morning show with Soledad O'Brien but he is the most negative person I have ever heard. CNN needs to get rid of him. Ignore what he says, it's not worth listening to him.”
On Al Franken, Robert McNamara, and Running Against Joe Lieberman

“Running with your baggage? I say "DO IT!" you have nothing to be ashamed of. At least when you do run, everything is out in the open, unlike everyone else who resigns when we are finally told the truth. If you want to run for office and think you might make a difference, then by all means, DO IT. We ALL have skeletons in our closets and just the most confident individuals are willing to say "here I am, attack all you want but I'm going to make a difference!" If you think you can really make a difference, then please run for office. At least you will be working for the people and not just for the rich. If I lived close you would have my vote but unfortunately I live in Texas, and I might just see you on the campaign trail when I decide to run for office in Texas.”
Don't Take the Bait

“I agree! What politicians and actors do in their personal life is none of my business. The Bible states that those who have not sinned, cast the first stone. I think people should be more concerned with what he is doing for his state, than what he is doing in the bedroom. I'm sure if you look at every skelton in every closet, you will find some things that we have all done that we are not proud of. Unfortunately, you have those who judge you harder than they want to be judged. As the saying goes "don't ever say your children are not going to do something or act a certain way, because that is exactly what they will do and say." Same for others, when you judge someone publicly, it usually comes back to bite you in the butt. It's not our place to judge, just don't vote for him the next time he comes up for election.”
The Bush Nightmare is Over

“I'm from Texas and I never voted for Bush. Just because Bush was not a good president doesn't mean that all Texans are crooked or dishonest. We have some very good people in Texas.”
The Bush Nightmare is Over

“I agree, George Bush can't be out the door too soon. Then again, Barack Obama can't perform miracles. Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream and fifty-two percent of the people react like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other forty-eight percent of us know we're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess. I just hope Barack can do a1% of what he has promised. Anything is better than Bush.”

“Susie54, that sounds so much like something my beloved grandmother would have said. She taught me all the good stuff I know. Great analogy.”

“I agree. I do believe he'll do a good job but I think people might be expecting a little too much and perhaps are expecting instant change. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for hope (because God knows we need a little something right now) and wanting things to change but you have to remember just how big a job Obama's got on his paws.”
The Inauguration Cannot Come Quickly Enough

“Alec, I agree with you 100%. This is hurting a lot of people, not just the very wealthy who lost a lot of their money. It's going deeper, down to the very low middle class working people. I am a high school teacher and most of my students ONLY KNOW THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. They know that if you break the law and you are rich or know the right people, you get away with it, even if a person is a government official. They didn't like them so just out them and then when the legal system finds them guilty, they still get off because of who they know. When they spend too much of our money there is no accountability to anyone. The very people who rip us off get to continue to live the lifestyle they are used to living while the middle class continues to pay for it over and over again. We try to teach our kids to respect others but then they see that no one has any respect for anyone else. If disrespect for the law and society gets them more money and richer friends, then why should our kids respect anyone.”
Doing it with Care

“. This comment has nothing to do with Caroline Kennedy, but, more to do with what Alec said on Larry King Live He made the comment that our society loves to take pictures and publish the worst things about a person. He said "Who cares if an actress's ass if fat, big deal." Joy Behar did not agree. We, as a society have made it very clear that unless you are a size 2 body for a female you are not worth anything. I am worth a lot. Just because I don't wear a size 2 doesn't mean that I'm stupid or ugly. I'm neither. I think you should discuss dress sizes of women more often and what is expected of them.”

“Mr. Baldwin,
Your question of why people care about someones elses butt is answerred in Dr. Bernes book "Games People Play" on page 112 the game is "blemish". The reason people play this game is that they feel inferior to the "victim" and because this womans butt is too big they now feel less inferior.”
