“It's not liters of beverages consumed, it's liters of pure alcohol. 12 liters of pure alcohol from five percent beer would equate to 240 liters of beer whereas 12 liters of alcohol from 100 proof vodka would take 24 liters of vodka.”

“I thought the same thing so I followed the link in the article and read their methodology. Everything is normalized to 100 percent alcohol, so it doesn't make any difference what type of alcohol was consumed. If country A and country B both have a per capita of 10 liters a year and country A drinks only 5% ABV beer and country B only 100 proof vodka (50% ABV) then country A consumed 200 liters of beer per capita, while country B consumed 20 liters of vodka per capita.”

Yea u got em in your 10 million population cities but little elsewhere. It was a statement from MANY PAST EXPERIENCES. Not from ignorance. There must be 10 in the county I live in in Ca.”

“If there were ice and steam to evaporate it wouldn't be an asteroid, it would be a comet. The real worry is the effect the near pass will have on its orbit the next time around. In the final analysis, though, the impact of this particular asteroid would not be an extinction level event, merely a really bad day for about ten million people.”

“The only "revolt" politicians care about is that of the Wall Street pedagogues. Despicable as it it, health insurance is one of the few industries that still turn a profit in the US.”
