Afghanistan: Obama Drops The Other Shoe

“Did you mean appropriate or inappropriate ?
There are a lot of trolls out and about. A lot of people have forgotten mighty quickly that it is a good thing Bush/Cheney are gone. That is why I am eternally grateful for Obama. Now, if we can get him to shape up on a few things !!! LOL
I am waiting for the day that he backhands the Republicans, but I don't think he has it in him, and maybe that is a good thing. He can say he tried working with them. I wouldn't have the patience.
Thanks for replying to me. I enjoy good dialog,in between doing my jewelry making. and feeding my outside Kitty Cat LOL”

“I never did listen to Bush. Just couldn't stomach watching him. When he was getting all those "gut" feeling decisions, my "guts" were churning.
Sorry to hear you won't be listening to the President. I'm hoping for some explanation to this gawd awful war. Still think it is a staging area to protect Pakistan and their nukes.....but I've been wrong, at least once, in my life LOL
Course he won't say that...but I have watched every speech since 2004, even though there are some things I'm not shouting about...Health Care, for one.”

“I felt the same way about Bush as you did. I found that every time I watched him I wanted to throw something at the TV. Maybe a shoe? My blood pressure would go through the roof. I'm so grateful he's gone. I hope I don't start feeling the same way about Obama but I am glad he's not getting a free ride either. There are some very appropriate comments being made here!”

“No, I have never been a Kool-Aid drinker...maybe a latte sipper and for sure a liberal and a great big fan of this President, even though I hate this war and all the other wars.
If you can be seduced by someone's talk, then you are not thinking for yourself.
And...you don't add a thing to this conversation with your snarky question.”

“At least they (your husband and brother) have the right to voice an opinion. The rest of us, well, I will speak for myself, have no experience to judge this matter except to say, there were no good choices.
A lot of chicken-hawks always do the quarterbacking for these wars, and don't know a damn thing, unlike your family who should be given the thanks that were not given at the end of Vietnam.”

“I believe that destroying the monster (opium) that supplies the money for the war lords, the Taliban and the corrupt government, should be a priority.
Would you please explain to me, why we have not torched these fields over and over in the years past.
I see no other revenue for Afghanistan, and know nothing about the seriousness of the pipeline through there to be protected. Other than acting as a staging area to protect Pak/nukes, none of this makes sense to me.”

“No, but they are getting closer to the nukes and the Pakistan leader is weak. Just as they should have left Saddam in power (he deterred the Iranians) they should have left the military guy in Pakistan. You didn't see the Taliban raising their ugly head when he was President, not that he was not corrupt or that Saddam wasn't a saddist.”

“Tell me who, on this earth is a peace candidate? I would probably vote for him/her. I think that everyone who reaches the age of 18 must give two years to military service. That would catch the wealthy and the politician's children in the snare and we would see less wars voted on. No more staying in college to avoid the service or the Nat'l Guard. Automatic military service at 18.
The corruption in this country will never be fixed as long as we don't have public financed campaign laws and some type of term limits along with running all the lobbyists out of DC.”

“You never heard of DENNIS KUCINICH or RON PAUL ??
Sadly, both candidates were totally disrespected by the media
and not given the full advantage that others were in debates, etc.
And, I would like to say that both men are honorable and have no
strings with any corporations or lobbyists.
I can agree with the rest of your post ~~”

“Ron Paul was. Dennis Kucinich was. Mandatory service isn't the answer. I will move my kids to another country before subjecting them to service that does not meet the needs and mission of this country.”

“First of all, I'm sorry for your sister's suffering. I don't know a thing about disability or what their criteria is or how it needs to be changed.
I have dealt with government run VA for years for my DAD before he passed. His drugs and medical was paid 100%. If he had gone to their hospitals, it would also be paid. I never had one problem, although there may be some.
I have to pay a supplement to Medicare and it has gone up 3 times in 2 years @ $130 mo, plus another $30 for Part D in addition to what is taken out of my Social Security of about $100. On a fixed income this mounts up.
There is just not smoke to all the stories about people dying from lack of health care or scores who have been denied or having to fight insurance companies to get compensated. From doctor's billing, I know they will nit pick every little thing and send the billing back for this or that. They keep denying as long as possible and that means they keep that money with interest in their piggy banks.”

“There is no doubt that some people are suffering and having problems with their health insurance companies. My experience was excellent with mine. I was allowed to find different oncologists for second and even third opinions, and the choice of hospitals, surgeons, even the type of treatment I got was my decision. It seems to me that opening competition, providing customer satisfaction information, and providing group coverage for all would make more sense to me. The experiences I have had with government service workers, who know they are not going to get fired or have to compete for your business, is that they just don't give a flip what happens to anybody.”

If so, I am agreement with you on dealing with the Taliban. Sounds like a good plan, to me,”

“Please give him time. I know that this is not something you want to hear, but, you know there will be a knock down drag out from the American Taliban. You know the President is for helping the gay community.
I stand with you and others in the gay community and if....things don't happen, to help those of you who are being denied your freedoms, in the next year, then I will help you voice your betrayed hopes.
I wanted to get health insurance from the government instead of my having to get insurance to supplement Medicare and eliminate Part D
insurance for drugs, but I'm not going to get it. Medicare is a blessing, but when you live on a limited income, it become pricey.
So, neither one of us are getting what we desire, just now.”

“The Russian relations improvement is another reason for the Nobel, that I hadn't thought about, but you are right. This will pay big dividends in the future. Had those relations festered and drifted, there is telling what the end results would have been. The China trip, while not reported enough because the MSM were all agog over Palin's book party, will pay dividends, also.
I don't think there was a shortage of people to get the Nobel, I think they picked the right one.”
