“Armed with an ice pick and just looking for somebody to stab with it, b-a-a-d girl. No one carries an ice pick around, they're too dangerous and can stab you when you're reaching around in your purse. Knowing this, she made a decision that she would be USING it, so she needed to carry it.
This is thee perfect example of what we are cultivating and encouraging with our Culture of Violence.
TV has a steady and growing schedule of violence, Prison Shows, Cops shows, Fight Shows, Crime Scene Shows, FBI profiling , Military Justice, Law & Order, Crime News............Then we have some Hospital shows with injustices and pain and tragedy and angst.
The programming leaves our young in a pained position, they are going to lash out. We're all in a pained position from this programming of and by our media. It's criminal.
WE have to stop this violent culture in its tracks!”

“I think Rachel Maddow is having an effect across the board with a lot of "news casters/commentators". Watching her develop the facts of the story and with follow-up that is clarifying, she is setting an example for all the lazy gossipy mud slingers. She is taking on opponents with vigor and without shouting them down or cutting their mics.
Just like Obama is setting an example of civility that Billo couldn't help but be affected by, we are on a new level that is more American and realistic. Change we can believe in, every now and then it shows its little head.”

“Sadly, the most obnoxious of them, Vicki, is doing great... but hey she is in the always growing Insurance Industry, the Industry that has half of America down and out. She is losing it in all directions, next thing you know she will be in an ambulance being hauled off to a psyche ward.
Wellll, I bet I could live on what they pay them, but I'm frugal. If they pay them so little, what is the incentive to being on the show? Do people really just want to be on TV no matter what they expose of themselves? Yuck.
Slade has appeared on that "Housewives.." show longer than most of the housewives, by now he should have his own show. He does look better with hair and a beard, will it get him a job?
Apparently the Gosselins had a much better deal, they were able to live on it and buy a better life...for a while.”

“The ONLY insurance we should be "mandated" to buy has to be the public option, non-profit. The tax payer money should only be used for public option and NOT private insurance.
The middle man makes all the money and we have to remove the middle man.
I've heard nothing about a national program that covers catastrophic expenses once you've reached a certain limit.
And...they have NOT removed the anti-trust exemption from the Insurance cos!!!!!! ferchrissakes
So, we are left with co-pays, high premiums, limits and continued bankruptcies due to medical costs. What good is this? I'm appalled.

“According to the cbo report, of the 32 million who won't have employer subsidized coverage in 2016, 9 million will be in a free medicaid program, 18 million (people making up to 400% of the federal poverty level - that's $88k/yr for a family of four this year) will pay a maximum of 9.8% of their income in total costs and the 5 million who make more than 400% of the federal poverty level will not receive subsidies. Subsidized people will save an average of 56%-59% over current insurance costs.

http://cbo.gov/ftpdocs/107xx/doc10781/11-30-Premiums.pdf

That's affordable coverage for 32 million people. People who are covered under their employer's plans will pay slightly less (up to 2%) than they would have without the plan. Nobody pays more. There are also minimum coverage limits of 70% of medical costs for all plans on exchanges. What's the downside?”

Aren't there some thirty-somethings willing to enter politics. eHarmony could match up a nice crop with Sauders et al and in no time we'd have candidates we can support. They ARE out there, we have to bring them out.
We can rail against the prez, the dems, the reps all we want, but until WE do something, WE aren't going to see the change we need. The President is only One, we are millions, we have to push.

It looks like outright fraud in congress, where the implied contract the State has with its elected representatives has been broken repeatedly. They are working AGAINST their citizens, while living large ON the citizens.
The State should be demanding recall and re-appointment/election of a representative that will do the Peoples' bidding. Cities and communities should be growing spines too...it isn't all in Washington.”

“I don't think he's talking about himself when he says, "You want someone to witness your life." I think he's referring to her life. She has a pretty bad story. She was planning her wedding on 9-11 when her husband-to-be was killed in the Twin Towers. It sounds like she had been a very good and responsible person until then. And then it sounds like she broke down and bascially started running, left NYC to live in Vegas where she took party planning/hostessing kind of work at high end clubs. If she did have a penchant for famous or married men it might have been BECAUSE they were unavailable. If you never really connect, you think you can protect yourself. (There are other twists and turns to her story -- a brief marriage where I think she was trying to recapture what she lost, followed by her descent into parties etc.)

I think if we knew the secrets of her life, of all these women's lives, I'm sure we would find suffering and sorror enough to forgive or at least understand.”

“Everything I read on this case painted a picture of a prosecutor that was fantasizing about sex and violence and got to play it all out in court to satisfy his own salaciousness. He has a super bad history of false accusations and arrests. He used his power to intimidate anyone he chose to. He sounds completely off the wall...the story he told of this crime was so off the wall it didn't even make sense.
The knife wasn't even the murder weapon, the DNA on it was too small to really identify anyone.
Knox could have been an air head or foxy - whatever, but she didn't have a motive for murder. They already have the real murderer in jail.
If Italy has to make some statement to the US for their war crimes, it is understandable, but Knox is an unfortunate girl in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

To top it off, they tempted fate with the "tallest building"...there is some tale of woe hitting each country right after they built the "tallest."
But, as usual with the ruling elite, who can say this wasn't an orchestrated step of their plan? Maybe the Human Rights Watch is on the verge of exposing their slave labor and the treatment of their slaves during their wage-free building boom? Not such good publicity.
This is a headline grabber, it will push everything else off the front page. This is great cover...but there is a lot to "cover" and the truth will out. How convenient for the Sheik to fire the pros and hire his family!
They'll probably have to turn off the refrigeration of their indoor ski course, the snow will melt and run through the city, wash away their fake islands and drown them all.
