“Another unscrupulously corrupt post that could have originated from the right wing Cuban sell out crowd in Miami. You've got another thing coming if you think Zelaya's backers are gonna let this roll. Retrogrades like Michelletti and his supporters and his anti-democratic apologists opened up a can of worms that their frail stomachs won't be able to handle. Thanks to the soulless right wing military junta revisionism we're gonna have ourselves another endless "guerilla" war in Latin America. Congratulations right war mongering apologists.”

“Ultimately, the Palestinians have the trump card, that's why they should only negotiate under the terms of a return to the 1967 borders. Israel is displaying a very very dumb approach that ultimately undermines its very existence. The Palestinian population will engulf Israel. Israel will turn into "Eretz" Palestine. Not even Israel's veil attempt at Palestinian population control and annexation will prevent this.”

Health Care Reform, Climate Change, and the Evasion of Our Mortality

Commented Oct 27, 2009 at 15:34:02 in Politics

“Dude, what a lame lesson in the perils of generalization. At least you could be more entertaining. Not that your argument carries any weight or has any relevance to mine.

You foolishly invoke collectivism with a predictable and erred definition. Obviously, your golden standard, as a faithful Capitalist is monetary or material. As if monopolistic and anti-individualistic capitalist system carry no threat of tyranny.

I'll give you my definition of collectivism:

A structure where as frivolity is essential to the well being of the economy, by means of indoctrinating the populace into believing that frivolity is essential. All the while exploiting the collective consciousness (patriotism, freedom, religion, consumerism) of the populace by offering a virtual standard of living based on debt and credit. Once there is no credit or liquidity to be offered the virtual will begin eroding.”

“The US has turned into a country where attachments to the material and physical procures an irrational fear of losing the material so intensely worked for. And that's where the dissonance occurs. The US has been a country which has "thrived" due to material attachments, yet remains highly superstitious (religion). An individual who has very little in life in way of attachments is less likely to have an irrational fear of death, or will have less fear of a rational chance of death.”

“The flaw in your thinking, and indeed the author's thinking, is one and the same: you cannot generalize from the individual to the society. Society is merely an aggregate of individuals -- it is not an entity. Men are not a collective entity -- we share no common or connected sensory organs and no connected collective brain, and no connected collective body.

The moral flaw in collectivist (or read: socialist) thinking is contained in the arrogance of making choices for others without their consent -- the only outcome of this is a tyranny where men are treated as chattel with no right to self determination and are used and disposed of at the whim of a central authority. Sanction of any such system, even on a limited scale, is a sanction of slavery.”

That's where things turn ignorant and border line racist when it comes to this issue. The Palestinians have recourse to absolutely zero, no right to self defense or outrage. As if they should be nice and timid, subserviently knowing their place, and in awe of Israeli superiority. Barack Obama Must See Michael Moore's New Movie (and So Must You)!

Commented Sep 21, 2009 at 15:42:35 in Business

“I think Michael puts a human face on an issue that most are very familiar with. Problem is, many Americans have built their security on a monopolized market and on nationalistic sentiments. How are Americans afforded a higher standard of living? Not only through a debt and credit driven economy, but also through the misery of overseas workers.

Next time, ask yourself. How many employees are on the pay roll of the insurers and pharmaceutical industry? Some of these employees' standard of living is dependent on abusive practices of their respective industries, and I'm not writing about CEO's and such, they're middle class employees.

Once you've loaded American's minds with frivolity, debt, and constant obligation; there's not much time for a collective conscientiousness. And how do you control growth in order to avoid a monopolized market? Do you set growth caps on industry? I wouldn't be opposed to it. We are experiencing the results of corporatised and thus a monopolized market.

To move from a corporatised and monopolized market, to a small business free market, would entail that gov't should be open to the failure of big industry. Obama, the politician that he is, missed the boat. We could have buried the corporatist, instead we gave them new life to further pillage our dreams.”

Should the French Socialist Party Die?

Commented Aug 09, 2009 at 23:56:46 in World

“The previous two posts (modern times and neva for leadership) border on hilarity. Your definition of a socialist state is poisoned by years of american brand capitalist indoctrination. As if USA and European history are the pillars of any political doctrine or construct. Socialism is not some theoretical and academic structure that was developed in European Universities. Socialism pre-dates that. Socialism is not theorized, it's lived. Please note the Incas in this case.

Nonetheless, those who view Capitalism as the lesser of evils or perhaps as the holly grail are correct. The free market could very well be the best a very primitive civilization can do.

I would theorize that sustainability is dependent on a proportionality that goes against the precepts of the free market. If ideology won't allow us into a more socialist or communal state then mother nature certainly will. Frivolity, over-consumption, and waste are not sustainable. Capitalism is not sustainable.

Eventually, the "individualists" are going to have to grow up, and indulge in dreams that are absent of frivolity, narcissism, and property.”

Should the French Socialist Party Die?

Commented Aug 09, 2009 at 10:43:26 in World

“That's a very rosy picture your describing and very far from what Capitalism is. First Capitalism promotes anti-individuality. Meaning, you develop a product, prove it's worth through sales, and then others imitate that product no matter how mediocre because the market has proven it to be profitable.

There's the tyrannical Free Market/Democracy, there's also a social democracy. In no way does a social democracy limit your entrepreneurship. Capitalist democracies tend to be run by multi nationals who undermine the will of the populace by means of undue influence on our gov't. Through debt the populace is given the mirage of a higher standard of living. All the while the multi nationals are exporting their tyranny through exploitation of overseas labor.

Your definition of socialism is defined by years of right wing/free market propaganda. Socialism doesn't entail an end to hierarchy or that you'll be cancer free and live happy life.
What we have here is Socialism for the private sector who can't regulate itself, and when the gob shite hits the fans they're the first ones looking for a gov't hand out. In addition, we subsidize large industries just so they can turn around and sell us the clunker at inflated prices.”

NevaforLeadership replied on Aug 09, 2009 at 14:52:01

“Name one country where your brand of socialism has succeeded. Don't bother naming any Western European countries, because their brand of socialism is supported by free enterprise and business capitalism. What's more it is unsustainable, which explains the large political shift to the right.

When you've found the country, why don't you move there.

Alternatively, why don't you start your own socialist political party and see how far you get.”

Should the French Socialist Party Die?

Commented Aug 09, 2009 at 02:21:12 in World

“Capitalism, in its current form, is going to be severely judged by the evolutionary time line. It's not only an instrument that opposes nature, but also promotes a tyrannical structure that thrives through disproportionality. It undervalues labor, creativity, and productivity and places sales above all sensible ethical constructs. It teaches us to think low, attempts to define us strictly by quantitative means, exploits our primal and negative instincts, and makes us value frivolity.”

etu2000 replied on Aug 09, 2009 at 20:06:13

“I totally dis agree. I think it creates an atomosphere for people striving to be their best, that anyone who works hard even when times are tough they will get through them. I believe capitalist =philanthropist. You have freedom of choice to participate or not..”

NevaforLeadership replied on Aug 09, 2009 at 09:23:49

“Obviously you don't understand capitalism.

You say it undervalues labor, creativity and productivity and places sales above all sensible ethical constructs.

It is the very opposite. No system, yet, is perfect. Capitalism is the only system that allows creativity and productivity to flourish. Much as you would like to believe it, we are not all born equal -- never will be. Some will always be smarter than others. They will be the leaders, and they will supply a living for the followers.

That is why socialism doesn't work. A group of less smart followers can't make a system work. The system always breaks down into leaders and followers; and under such an imperfect system as socialism, the process always deteriorates into business bankruptcy, communism or dictatorship.

You are free, in a capitalist society, to start a company that values labor, creativity and productivity at any time. You can also create your own code of ethics for your company. Just do it. Or are you a follower who depends on leaders for your livelihood?

Without free enterprise, there is no creativity, no productivity and no progress. The experiments in socialism are a testament to that truth. I recommend you watch/read "Commanding Heights" to start your education about capitalism versus socialism.

Even in Europe, where pseudo-socialism has been more prevalent, it has become a certainty that spreading the wealth through taxation is unsustainable.

Free enterprise and self-initiative are two of the most precious aspects of a free democracy.”

Socialism destroys democracy? Like the Social/Democratic party in Costa Rica that run under the moniker,"We want to destroy Democracy."

Let's get real here. This whole thing is 100% ideological. There was no legal recourse for the conspirators. It's high time the Honduran people rid themselves of their current institutions. They are bought and paid for.”
