Tattoos: Inks Raise New Health Concerns About Age-Old Designs

Commented Nov 2, 2011 at 23:51:48 in Los Angeles

“My husband is about to get surgery on his hand in two days. We met his doctor today, a very successful orthopedic surgeon in AZ. He saw my husband and I's ink, and we started to chat about the whole tattoo culture. Then he lifted the sleeves of his lab coat, both arms were done in some of the most gorgeous art that I have seen. I made the comment, "Amazing, you normally don't see a lot of doctors/surgeons with that much ink." He went on to say "you would be surprised... Especially when one of them that I personally knows is a very renowned Neurosurgeon that has saved thousands of lives has 75 percent of his body covered in ink" So save your judgments, you closed minded prude. These so called "drug addicts" might just save your life. And I am personally the mother of three, I have a very good career, I am not on welfare, I have never done drugs, I drink an occasional (Like maybe twice a year) glass of wine, and all of my tattoos are for me and me alone, not for you and your judgments.”
