“These people are an example of America, both left and right. Most people don't actually pay attention to issues, that is why political parties come up with talking points, all people need is a sentence. Ask a Republican about any issue and they say freedom and constitution. Ask a Democrat about any issue and they say fairness and social justice. Ask an independent and they will say I could care less as long as things are going well. Americans aren't informed nor are we concerned with being informed.”

I have never met a progressive voter who wasn't studying the issues from a multiplicity of news sources. Why else do you think that education (and crafty use of FACTS) is held in such contempt by the "plain ol' folks" who follow Glenn Beck? Why else do you think that Christian Right students are so quick to condemn their professors as "liberals" when they find that the things they learn in university don't match their parochial worldview?

“To me Cao's vote was strictly political. He was elected because the Democrat he ran against is going to jail. He represents a district that leans heavily Democratic and after he voted against the stimulus he was threatened to be recalled. Then he started saying things like I may be a closet Democrat. With all that being said I am happy that he chose to be on the right side of an important issue but nobody should make it seem as if this is some guy representing a bunch of conservatives and that he is sticking his neck out by voting with the other party, if anything he would be in more hot water with his re-election if he had gone party-line and voted against it.”
