“Yeah the "fertility" argument peeves me horribly. My parents have been lovingly married since 1962. My mother is an X0 Turner's Syndrome lady. She is completely barren, and I am adopted. The fertility argument taken to its logical conclusion would invalidate my parents' beautiful and long-lasting marriage.”

“Well said Thaag. I totally agree.
The idiocy of the "fertility argument" as a prime motivator against marriage equality denies the main reasons for institution. Your character is obviously the product of a sensitive and loving relationship, and you are aware of life's variables and vicissitudes, and how humans can overcome them.
For the people who push this flawed line of reasoning, theirs is the "logic" of the barnyard, better reserved for breeding chickens and prized hogs...”
“Unfortunately many cities are making it illegal to do this anymore.”

“Indeed Thaag - they call in the Health Inspectors and all. Then neighbors who've even gotten fresh eggs they like complain and soon enough there's an ordinance in fron of City Council to out law it all together! Meanwhile the University Campus down the road has a grant from Monsanto to grow GMO corn and they've knocked down buildings to plant the field required by the parameters of the experiment 10 times the size of what a 1/2 acre house had planted.”

“Big business doesn't want the competition. Some cities won't even let you grow a garden on your own property.”
“Yeah that sentence made my logic gland hurt. "Look! We're seeing things not happen!" Maybe the next thing can be, "Look! We're seeing the sky not turn pink with yellow polka dots!" or "Look! We're seeing feathers not sprouting from the eyeballs of hammerhead sharks!"”

“It's another winner for conservatives in their quest for ultimate irrationality.”
“I actually don't mind "creator" as a atheist. The creator could simply be the forces of nature. This is something that confuses creationists since they can't fathom the concept of the universe creating itself.”

“Yet they insist their god has no beginning and no end. Well, if the universe can't just come into being, nor can supreme being!”
“While I agree with the sentiment that the NSA needs to butt out of our private communications, Rand Paul now has no right to accuse anyone of pulling a race card when speaking historically. I'm getting sick of the double standards.”
“I talked with my kids (neither of whom smoke) about this. They agreed that young folks are not likely to start on a nicotine habit through e-cigs, no matter what the advertising. Like when we were kids and like when our parents and their parents were kids, smoking is a form of rebellion. E-cigs are techy and nerdy, to be quite honest, and not edgy and cool (except to us nerds).
I'm not sure if I will give up the habit. I'm still quite under a lot of personal stress, and since I pay for my insurance I can't afford to see a doctor =)”
“Also, please don't infer that I am thinking or believing anything. Don't pretend that first sentence of yours was an actual question, there should have been a "do" in there for it to be an actual question. The next sentence is snide, and you obviously (because I spell it out very plainly in my other response to this post of yours) did not understand the meaning of that response of mine. *sigh* I hate holding your hands to lead you through arguments.”
That was the type of retort I expect from a grade-school child, not a grown woman.”

“Actually, you have to understand that each day of creation was a positive. So using your own augument. How can you prove the negative? After each day He said it was good. Then the most powerful positive of them all happened. He made US! Then he said it was REALLY GOOD. Now the next thing is even amazing He separaed us from everything else that he made. He said that we were to have dominion over all the fish, birds and wild life. Now that was a real positive. He didn't make us equal to the birds, fish or animals. He said that we were superior! Now who have who in the zoo, circus or homes. When the last time you seen the killer whale at SEA WORLD? When the last time you seen the LION, TIGER, ELEPHANT at the zoo? Or how about the pets in our homes like the dogs, cats, birds, etc. The very first chapter of the book tells me that there is no creation on this planet greater than mankind. Yes the animals came out the earth as we did so there will be things similiar in our make-up. But, thats where it end not where it begin. So using your own words how do you prove a negative?”
“I *am* a master control operator, and of a FOX affiliate to boot. I talked with my boss about this, and we are both of the opinion that it was timed by someone of a higher pay grade than the MCO, let's just say. And I agree that MCOs are very proud and professional regarding their jobs. I know this is the best job I've ever had in my life and I am not exaggerating.”
