Burning Trees to Make Electricity -- What Are They Thinking?

Commented Jun 17, 2012 at 19:25:48 in Green

“Thanks Dr. Moyer for writing this informative article that captures many of the arguments pointing to the foolishness of burning our forests for electricity.

The real solution to the climate and energy crisis is conservation, efficiency, and community-scale, genuinely clean energy such as solar, small wind, and microhydro. We're also going to have to look at our overconsumption of resources as well, which means lifestyle change.

The absolute worst thing we can do is cut down more of our carbon storing forests for a smidgen of electricity--much of which is wasted anyway.
