“You at all cost avoided my comment and derailed on a rant about what you ASSume my position about government is. If you want to have an intelligent discussion, I encourage you to stop ASSuming and/or putting words in my mouth.”

“I hit your comment head on, and you can continue to ASSume the position of an appologist for the "progressive" notion of a utopian collectivist state.”
“I am sorry, but this: "and we should have concentrated on the uninsured 10% instead of destroying the health insurance for the 80% that were satisfied with what they had."
tells me how "informed" you are...
p.s. I really hope you are part of the 80% you mentioned else you are just as hypocritical as you are ill-informed.”

“gee you hurt my feelings. I guess pulling the wagon and paying your own way is somehow contemptable. As far as what i do for my fellow man, I bet I can match you (and any run of the mill progressive") deed for deed and $$$ for $$$. Most "progressives" (and it seems you fit in this belief) feel that government should be the one to control distribution of wealth, and like Obama once said "at some point youve got enough", you believe he or sombody like him should be the one to decide just when enough is enough. The main drawback to collectivism is that equality of outcomes destroys any incentive to excell and work hard. Why put any extra effort into anything if you'll get the same share as everyone else, including the lazy? Another drawback was illustrated in Orwell's "Animal farm" where he pointed out that on the farm, all pigs were equal, but some pigs were "more equal". If you look at who runs the "progressive' movement, you will find there are quite a few 'more equal" pigs that live quite well planning the existance for the rest of us. We CAN find a way to help those less fortunate, but big government is NOT the way to do it.”
“You do realized that some of the people enjoying the free ride are those who are uninsured right?
And I hope you know that ACA is based on the free market insurance providers.
You are very ill-informed.”

“I happen to very WELL informed, and have an understanding of hisotry that tells me we can't make the same mistakes that have always led to ruin and destruction and expect different results. One thing YOU don't seem to understand is that "health insurance" is NOT the same thing as "health care", and we should have concentrated on the uninsured 10% instead of destroying the health insurance for the 80% that were satisfied with what they had. This was a power grab with the full intent of getting to a completely governement run health care delivery sysytem, and even the failures were calculated to bring that about. Even if you believe that the governemment SHOULD have this role, you should be disturbed by the deceitful way it's being brought about.”
“Do you have a solution? Do you rather people don't carry their own weight?”
flightdeck4 on Dec 4, 2013 at 12:13:09
“People should pay for what they get, but I have a feeling that is not what you mean by "carry their own weight". You want those that DO "carry their own weight" to also carry the weight for others. America has always been the most generous country on the face of the planet, and if government will get out of the way, it will remain so. We no longer have a "safety net, we have a safety hammock with a growing class of citizens that have made social service benefits a career choice, and know that all they need to do to keep the gravy train on track (until it derails from ecconomic reality) is to vote for the "progressives".”
