“Fox News is the channel that every day and all night long whips viewers into a frenzy and throughout every show repeats over and over how "angry" Americans are about health care and how "angry" Americans are about "the advance of socialism". It's effective brainwashing and it works.

I listen to people who are unemployed -- and hear their stories about how desparate they are and can't afford medicine or need surgeries and live in constant pain because they can't get them, or how they have nothing for a Christmas present for their son. I hear desperation, not anger. I hear frustration from business owners who had no problem obtaining the credit necessary to maintain inventory, sell to customers, and paid their bills on time.

It's only that segment of the population who never listen to anything but Fox who is the most angry.”

I do think that Faux Noise may be "affective" (as in they affect us by their garbage, but are not effective in changing minds) in their desperation, but they are truly "ineffective" in their message - that was decided in November 2008.

Merry Christmas - just a little fun at Faux Noise's expense.”

What Americans need to understand that this network has infiltrated the USA with a lot of unhelpful and counterproductive foreign viewpoints aimed at destabilizing every element of the social fabric - which has been very useful for many of America's enemies.”

“You know -- I'd like to see a lot of those talking heads get out of the radio booth and the TV studio -- and spend some time on the streets actually doing something about the problems they think they know so much about.

Ed Schultz went down to a free clinic -- and said every Congressman needs to go to one and listen -- and then go back to Congress before they vote. I think that's an awesome idea. And how about if some of the pundits at Fox, CNN, and MSNBC -- all of them put down their mikes and for a week joined members of Congress and the President in New Orleans or Detroit or the corridor of shame schools in South Carolina for some service projects--and health care clinics for a week. Actually -- they don't have to go that far. Just do a few projects in Washington DC with the Obamas and see how much differently you feel about they're trying to do.

We need a less toxic environment in this country -- and it needs to start at the top -- with the toxic media and the polarizing politicians -- and yes, we can take some responsibility too - here the blogosphere as well. Maybe we need to look around in our personal lives for a way to physically get involved with our local communities and doing something positive for others. Not just sending money, but giving our time and hearts to others.”

Glenn Beck does it more directly, but go directly to Hannity.com, RushLimbaugh.com and GlennBeck.com and Michael Savage -- all 4 of them are selling gold. Sure wish there was a way to see how much of the run-up in gold prices is due to their followers buying it. “As pretty as earth looks from a distance -- and I love to watch DISHEARTH channel on my tv every once in awhile, let's be realistic. Space travel is really a way to fund government contractors rather than putting their engineering to work solving some of our other challenges.

This planet was designed for us -- and we for it. Like a fish on the bank of a river, or a deer trapped underwater after falling through the ice on a lake -- we die when we're not in the environment our bodies were designed for. There's nothing to eat on Mars, or Jupiter. Your life is regulated to the confines of space capsule (enough to make you lose it after a few months), your body's bone density and muscles deteriate in space, to say nothing of the lack of human warmth and contact we need.

I'm content with looking at the satellite pictures from Hubble and all, but our world has a lot of beautiful places left for each of us to discover -- and at a price that isn't going to deny medical care or education funds to others and so on.”

It will be interesting to see if Fox has any coverage of this tomorrow. You can bet that if it were a democrat governor, they'd be all over it right now.

Roger Ailes destroyed Gov. Dukakis over Willy Horton -- this man is much worse than Willy Horton -- and especially some of the other cases Huffpo wrote about. Wonder if they'll continue with Huckabee's show.

I do believe Gov. Huckabee's genuine and had some good intentions -- but you'd think that after a few of his pardoned prisoners committed crimes he would have learned a little. There's a little 6 year old girl whose live was destroyed by this man -- in addition to the families of those officers -- and who knows how many other victims that haven't come forward.

Of all the potential presidential candidates to use this against Gov. Huckabee, I'm putting my money on Palin to be the one to use it against him if they're running for 2012.”

Visit it first -- but there's a lot to like about that country -- and maybe it's time to give up thinking that Americans will ever pull their head out and get out from under the control of the hysteria-mongers. I saw a post by someone who's son is going to school in British Columbia and pays $54/month -- and is entitled to walk into any hospital with no paperwork and be taken care of. MY share of insurance costs me $237 every 2 weeks. That works out to about 2 days' work -- just for the insurance. “Looks like someone's got that list pegged. I was going to suggest taking a look at the Fox talk radio station programming schedule in Anchorage -- since that's Sarah's sole provider of political education.

Fox programming -- it's about the programming they do to their listeners -- not the presentation of news to the public. It is insidious though -- almost cult-like. Because their tagline and throughout their programs, they tell their listeners that only THEY have the truth and no one else can be trusted. Something that NBC, CBS, ABC never had to do. You believed them or you didn't.

My 82-year-old mom gets practically hysterical when I talk about anything that remotely disagrees with the Fox party line and everywhere people are getting more polarized because of them. It's unforgivable what they have done to the country in their efforts to keep the neocons in power.”

The one that knew how to manipulate and charm those people she wanted to impress -- and was a bully to those she considered beneath her.

I hope that people do read this book. There are going to be those who read it and still see her as their idol and buy into the victim thing.

What I want to see in Walter's interviews are some good questions about the Alaska Independence party and their role in getting Sarah installed as mayor and what they are all about. Their desire for secession isn't a political belief they held 40 years ago -- it's what they want today -- and Sarah and Todd have attended their conventions. She even taped a special message to them. So, maybe it's time the gloves came off and someone asked her some serious questions about that. But they won't come from Hannity, Beck, or Limbaugh. And unfortunately, I think Barbara's interviews have gotten way too softball in the last 10 years. She's more about letting celebs justify or explain away whatever issues they have, then really getting to the facts.”

When the Fed which USED to only loan to banks started opening their cash drawers to investment banks under the management of Bernanke and others, I really got suspicious. What those people have done is grotesque in their greed.

People are losing jobs and manufacturers and dealerships are closed because of their greed. GM and Chrysler were thrown into bankruptcy -- not because there was any great change in carbuying habits but because of the credit disasters caused by AIG and the investment banks.

How about doing something nice for a change -- and send a few bouquets of flowers to some of these leaders who did the right thing. They don't have time to read our emails or listen to our phone calls -- but they won't miss a few bouquets from some thankful constituents.

Is it perfect? Heck no, but this is a country of imperfect people and at least they're trying to do something right.

I've got to hand it to Nancy Pelosi for her guts and tenacity. She's been made into almost a female Hitler by Limbaugh and Hannity, but she hung in there.

Now to get it implemented, the devil can be in the details. But for today -- take the time to call or email and say THANK YOU. There are going to be a few nervous representatives and senators who are afraid the tea partiers are going to kill their chances for re-election over this and let's show our support.

I know that this idea will probably be scoffed at by a few "conservatives" -- but let's be honest. "Conservatives" are simply Republicans who refuse to take responsibility for what their party has done and when it comes to health care -- with the exception of the Medicare drug benefit -- it's been nothing.”

And then he would start talking to the people lined up after losing their jobs because their employer couldn't get the same loans for inventory that he couldn't before. And then talk to the car dealerships that would still be open if they didn't have their floorplan financing shut off by his crowd of financial deviants with no conscience.

Unfortunately, he seems to have been trying to reassure the people in power that nothing's REALLY going to change and so he settled for the resumes of Geithner and Somers.

If I were in his shoes, I'd invite Volcker in for a long heart to heart about what it would take to unwind this. But when you drive yourself into the ditch, you sometimes have to put it in reverse and say, what were we doing when we were doing okay?

Here's some food for thought. I people charge $5000 and end up paying $3000 in interest over the life of that debt, that's $3000 of consumer goods, retirement income, college savings for their kids that will never happen.

Debt slows down growth -- and if the debt is due to exoribant interest rates and penalties and fees. Frankly, if I had my way, I'd tell everyone to get themselves into your local credit unions. My credit card rates are 1.88% and 9.9% respectively in the two credit unions I belong to. THAT's not going to happen with Obama, the Demorats and the lefty czars.”
