“National Geographic had a special on Lincoln last night. It was kind of like a Team of Rivals reference.

It was really amazing. Anyone who loves Lincoln, should try to see watch it.

It was only 1 hour, and it was almost like watching a documentary on Obama.

Right around this time, people were saying that his election to POTUS was a mistake.”

“williamg,

The funny thing is that I read "Team of Rivals" and forgot that Lincoln was attacked day in and day out for dithering on the war, called a one-termer, and accused of being too soft.

He was underestimated almost day in and day out.”

jgeurian21 replied on Nov 24, 2009 at 09:59:53

“Great book. Personally I love Lincoln. Another great book is "The Language of Liberty: The Political Speeches and Writings of Abraham Lincoln". You really begin to see the man more personally with letters to his wife on things like the war and slavery. What I love about Lincoln was he had less epxerience than Obama, actually had a grocery business fail and only a single term as a legislator and went on to become one of the greatest presidents in history. Clearly experience is not the sole indicator of greatness.”

He didn't create any of those issues. He just has to fix them. Now help or shut up.”

“Still, we have to remember 90% of this mess was INHERITED from an administration that was incompetent.

Problem with Obama is that he has kept a lot of these incompetents, like Bernanke, on in his administration and has made some bad "picks" as well, like Geitner!!!!”
