“Wow, what a overreaction. Why not argue over the policy differences rather than sending out such a crazy letter? Is that what you folks want a McCarthy like person on the left demanding such things. Bizarrely I know many of you do.”
“As a corporate consultant and lawyer Warren made hundreds of thousands of dollars screwing working stiffs who had Asbestos induced workplace illness. I am quite tired of those who pretend she is a working class hero and those that who would disagree with her are the bad guys.
Its a big tent party folks.”

“If you repeat a lie, what does that make you.
"It may seem counter-intuitive that Warren’s work on behalf of an insurance company that covered an asbestos manufacturer could be work on the same side as the victims of the case. But Warren was brought in as a bankruptcy expert on a case before the Supreme Court to secure a $500 million trust to pay asbestos victims. As part of a settlement that Warren worked to preserve, the insurance company sought immunity from lawsuits in exchange for releasing the $500 million trust. Attorneys for most of the asbestos victims supported Warren’s efforts."
“You aren't interested in what REALLY was the case, are you?
"Boston Globe, May 1: Travelers won most of what it wanted from the Supreme Court, and in doing so Warren helped preserve an element of bankruptcy law that ensured that victims of large-scale corporate malfeasance would have a better chance of getting compensated, even when the responsible companies go bankrupt."
"...After Warren left the case, ... a lower court issued a ruling on Feb. 29, 2012, that, as the Globe reported, took Travelers "off the hook for paying out the $500 million settlement."
Travelers wanted to declare bankruptcy so they wouldn't have to pay ANYTHING to asbestos victims. Warren helped negotiate a settlement that would have guaranteed a $500 million trust.”
“Corporate consultant and lawyer says it all buddy!”

“And I'm going to show you why everyone thinks liars are nothing but a cancer on society, since all they do is lie:
It may seem counter-intuitive that Warren’s work on behalf of an insurance company that covered an asbestos manufacturer could be work on the same side as the victims of the case. Attorneys for most of the asbestos victims supported Warren’s efforts.
According to Warren’s financial disclosure forms, Warren was hired by Travelers in April 2008 and did work for the company through September 2010. By that time, Travelers and the asbestos victims were working together on a common goal: to preserve the $500 million trust both sides had agreed to. Another insurance company, Chubb, was contesting the settlement agreement, and Warren ended up making her one and only appearance before the Supreme Court arguing on behalf of Travelers to uphold the trust.
Travelers won most of what it wanted from the Supreme Court, and in doing so Warren helped preserve an element of bankruptcy law that ensured that victims of large-scale corporate malfeasance would have a better chance of getting compensated, even when the responsible companies go bankrupt.”

“From the bios that I have read about Warren, she was Professor at several Universities and wrote drafts and did studies about bankruptcies and consumer protection, so I don't know where you read that, but I would be interested in knowing.”

“What are your sources? Just reviewed her profile on Wikipedia which has nothing to indicate that she was ever a "corporate consultant" whatever that is supposed to mean. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Warren As a "corporate consultant" she could have just as easily been advising corporations on how to comply with employment laws designed to protect workers employed by corporations.”

“Attorneys represent their clients. That is what they are paid to do. Maybe that is where she learned what was really going on in the corporate banking world. Europe has just proved that big banks rigged the system and we all know how it ended. We need to jail some BANKSTERS!”
“Obviously you didn`t tell anyone anything! Had McCain won, you people would still be talking about the economy being fundamentally SOUND! That was five years ago too, and Shazam, the economy is still in the tank with a new $24 billion charge added on for a useless shutdown!!!”

“Actually, I want both Clintons back. The Bill Clinton who supported labor on all programs outside of trade and his wife, whose office was our backdoor in as fought the implementation of that and other trade deals. She was not completely on board with these deals as she explained in 2008 and I know this to be true because of things she did for us back then.
But believe what you wish. Its easy to be critical when one doesnt know much.”
“Im a lifleong labor dem activist and of course we disagreed with him on trade, but Obama has been much worse and with the pacific rim trade deal - known as nafta on steroids and with a health care bill that gave him a worthless political win that screws labor families and will push millions from ft to pt work, it is clear why why we backed the Clintons over Obama and why our Party in 2012 will reject fools like you and fight to put them back at 1600.”

“So you like the man who gave us NAFTA as opposed to the guy who might give us superNAFTA?”
“first off, it was all about word play and the way starr tried to put him in a perjury trap and what defined :sexual relations"
few understand this because most in the media did not .
the reason he said - " i did not have sexual relations with that woman, miss lewinsky" is because by the written description offered to him in the deposition the day before, they did not have blow jobs listed as "sexual relations"
hence, he did not have "sexual relations" and hence, he did notr commit perjury. if he had, he would have been removed from office.
as to the charge of rape, the accuser anita broderick was a mental case with a right wing, jealous nutball husband and you yoursaelf are daft if you even consider them yourself.”

“Huffpost has not posted my previous reply to this comment, but I did want to address it.
First of all, if you have to engage in pejoratives to make your point, I don't think it reflects well on you or your point (or the dialogue on these forums).
Secondly, if you are familiar and objective with Clinton and his past with women, then you should be aware of how far off base these comments appear. Dismissing Broderick as "a mental case" reveals a lot about your character, not hers.
By the way--if you look into this issue without blinders, you'd know she is not the only one who has accused Bill Clinton of rape. Read the late Christopher Hitchens book on Clinton and educate yourself on the material before you attack people. Or, read Taylor Branch's recent history on the Clinton White House--in which he records his surprise at how Clinton tried to segment responsibility for his lying/dismissing/dodging of the perjury issue and Lewinsky scandal in general.”
