“45 thousands are dying every year without health care. So I guess by that number it will take a little over 2 years to kill a million. Silly me.
I wonder how many are permanently crippled. That number is probably 1 million a year since no one really tracks that number and it is much more prevalent..
If we allow the medical insurance industry to continue to run health care millions will die. So write down my screen name and next year when millions are dying you can write me and tell me you were wrong.. Because if any continuation of the desires of medical insurance industry”

“You just don't get it. Incentive is crucial. "But you will feel good about yourself." Not how the world works.”

“We understand the capitalist incentive - Bill just explained it. He described how we have no incentive now to rehabilitate prisoners or to encourage health. That was precisely his point.
And the world used to work like that, until profiteers started privatizing industries that were working fine before, for all of our benefit.
What capitalist incentive is at work for dumbed-down news? Is that why we were missing the idiotic celebrity stuff before? Not enough incentive?
What capitalist incentive is in play to send mercenaries out to do laundry? Was the soldiers' laundry coming back with too much starch?
What's the capitalist incentive in denying children healthcare?
I suspect you purposefully 'just don't get it'.”

“to repeat:
In the vast majority of businesses, profit motive is a GOOD thing for consumers, because to get and maintain the most customers, a business must provide the best services possible. The more a paitnet uses their services, the more money the company makes.
But it doesn't WORK that way in healthcare, because the more of their services that a patient uses, the more it COSTS the company. So instead of the profit motive being "how do I get my customer to use my services as often as possible" the challenge now becomes "how do I get my customer to use my services as LITTLE as possible." And they do this by denying health care to people with chronic illnesses. As a financial counselor in a non profit hospital, my job is dealing with insurance companies which deny treatment a doctor says is medically necessary. Every day, people who have the best insurance money can by are denied medically necessary care like chemo or bone marrow transplants, because it is simply does not make fiscal sense for an insurance company to pay their services. They make profits by DENYING services, not PROVIDING them.
And you don't have to worry about losing NEW customers, because ALL private health insurances work this way, so if you deny a claim, and they tell a friend, that friend still has no reason to chose another insurance carrier, because it is just as likely they will do the same thing.”

“That has been the lot of so many here since the primaries...do not question Obama, do not criticize...even Obama communicates this childish warning with the right wing media types...in his naivete he thinks any of them will listen to him...however, less naively and far more cynically, he knows he can count on shills like we find here who will pass on his rhetoric, as empty as any politicians', who will excuse his flip flops and false equivalencies without batting an eye.”
