Worry about what is important and you have some influence over. Family. Friends.

How big a house do you need? Do you even need a house?
Do you need a car? Maybe - most of the US isn't accessible without one and you probably need one for work. Does work require that you buy a large, expensive car to park outside your place of work for 8 hours a day? Get that in writing and write it off on your taxes.

If you find yourself miserable because you don't measure up to the life styles promoted on television, stop watching television. Cut the cable or tear down the antenna. Realize that you made a horrible mistake with the large screen HD TV and get it out of your house. Read. Take control of your entertainment, don't let it control you. TIVO is a false god.”

They probably haven't yet created sperm from a female's stem cells, or eggs from a man's, but the article says that is a possibility (did you read it?), allowing for gay couples to create offspring. The article states that some scientists don't think they'll be able to get sperm from a woman's stem cells due to the lack of genes from the Y chromosome. But at the same time, the only mammal that has been born with two parents of the same sex came from two female mice, so that flies in the face of that.”

“Well, HuffPost bloggers are going a good job of dealing with Jim DeMint.

The man and his friends exist in another world. They still live in the dream time of Strom Thurmond when prosperous South Carolina men had their white and black families. They still dream of having their own baronies where they are the masters and others are their slaves. When you do something they do not like, the cognitive dissonance in their little brains is enormous and they shout "You Lie!" to attack you. They disobey the State Department's order and go to Honduras to interfere with the mediation being done by the Organization of American States - probably in violation of the Logan Act. They have such a thirst for power they join Christian fascist groups like The Family of C-Street fame. DeMint even lived there until just recently. They live in another world, but it is not the world of the average South Carolinian. DeMint, Graham, Wilson, Sanford and others see the Republican Party falling apart around them, and they grasp at political straws. The comment made by DeMint and his friends about the Jewish community is just another example of their frustration combined with stu.pidity.

The South Carolina GOP and men like DeMint continue to work stupi.dly to elevate themselves to even higher levels of stup.idty.”

“As sad as it sounds, I think they thought this was a good thing to say about Jews -- as in "they're good with money." It is a stereotype that has gotten Jews in trouble for millennia, but as a statement it is not anti-Semitic. Insensitive, yes. Dumb, yes. As a Southern Jew, I have lived with things like this my whole life. Most of the people saying things like this are not anti-Semites which would imply they hate Jews. They have never known any Jews.
