“No, Tracy Ullman's great. JScott was referring to a skit in Tracy's new show where she does Rene Zellwiger with a "perpetual narcissistic squint".”

“Right... Because that's someone who really needs to be taken down a peg or two. Indeed, it is the perfect example of the kind of sharp, relevant satire we've come to expect from this brave comic. Watch out, Sinbad!”

“It's great that churches help the poor but a patchwork of food pantries does not provide a safety net for poor children.”

“I think you underestimate how much charity in the form of food, clothing and shelter comes through religious organizations.

And of course there still needs to be a certain level of government help. Very few would argue with you to do away with ALL government charity. Most just hate seeing it abused.”

“Thank you Wisconsin! As a KU graduate living in Milwaukee I salute your victory. One thing though, act like you've been there before and don't let your fans rush the court, bad form.”

Hvartski on Feb 13, 2011 at 16:49:32

“This has a familiar ring. I was in law school at UW during the Johnny Coatta years. Remember that? We won a single game in 3 years. The fans rushed the field and continued the celebration down State Street. The next day one of the state legislators said the "demonstration" was caused by "outside agitators." Jump around is what we do in Madison. Get used to it.”

DrFunkenstein22 on Feb 13, 2011 at 15:01:56

“I've heard that "rush the court" argument all over the Chicago sports media lately. I couldn't disagree more with that sentiment. But, believe me, I get it. Act like you've been there before and all that jazz.

We've all heard commentators and other "sports-heads" trying to establish some sort of rules for this phenomenon. I would say this, as a KU grad, you've been spoiled. Act like you've been there before? As a Badger fan, and UW grad, I would make the argument that we have, indeed, "been here before" and therefore we know that this very well could be the pinnacle of our season. We work hard and master the fundamentals and we're among the best coached teams in the country but we have never had the recruits/talent to make it far in the tourney.

All pessimism aside, however, I think it is totally appropriate for a UW team to rush the court for the following reasons:

1) Defeated the country's #1 team
2) We weren't even ranked in the top 10 at the time
3) Most important reason: that game truly "felt" like an incredible comeback! I know that there was no buzzer beater but if you watched the game, there was no denying that it was a VERY exciting comeback. IMO, it was the "equivalent" of a buzzer-beater finish... especially for a team that prides itself on their defensive prowess and mistake-free b-ball.”

“I could care less if you call bs on that one - you are not in my unemployed shoes. Where do you work?

Do you have a manager in business valuation position open at your firm? I'm willing to relocate anywhere in the country.

I could take any job but I'm not a tax accountant or auditor and would have to settle for an entry level position in tax or audit. Yes it would be work but I would lose my home because of the drop in income. I guess that's what the "haves" think the "have nots" should do.

So much for playing by the rules and getting a "marketable" degree.”
