“In the congressman's defense here, he could have kept his job for the health care coverage and had to be sure to line up another job that would guarantee they would take his wife even with her pre-existing condition.”

Obama Accused Of Abandoning Health Care Principles In New Ad

Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 11:04:44 in Politics

“Now we are seeing the difference between Republicans and Democrats. When George Bush betrayed Republican conservative principles by spending the country into a massive amount of debt, the Republicans doubled down in their support. Democrats do the exact opposite in the same situation. Obama is clearly coming up short in many, many ways. However, he is still our guy and if you think we will get better by abandoning him, then think again. What Republican is going to do better? Name one? .... I'm still waiting.... I didn't think you could name one.

I am not happy either, but I won't abandon my guy.”

“False choice.

Look, don't take my word, take Obama at HIS word: "you got to make me." Because of the roll-over crowd, Blue Dogs can say: "look, your base will vote for you no matter what! Now, here's what I need to get re-elected." Progressives have GOT to be able to say "I'm going to lose votes over this," or they've got no chips to play with. If we're going to ask progressives to have back-bone, then WE have got to show it to them. We have to support them by drawing lines and backing them up, if not, we're leaving big O' at the table with no chips. I like the guy too, but this bill, as is, is a deal-breaker and it's like strike number 10. But so long as progressive voters give in, we can't complain about our elected Dems not having spine.”

“and you voted for to give Bush approval to go to war against Iraq, you voted for the Bush TARP plan and you voted for the Patriot Act and you voted to establish the largest department in the U.S. Government, Homeland Security..... all in less time than has been spent on this. How long was spent on the Bush plan for a drug benefit for Medicaid? How long was spent on "no child left behind." You voted for those too.

Give me a break Olympia, you have had plenty of time. Have some guts and just admit that you are too much of a coward to go against your party because they are going to run at you from the right when your time comes up for re-election. It is going th happen anyway.”

But then again, back then, the vast majority of the country was white.

“Wasn't Poppy Bush's whole thing about the 1000 points of light all about volunteering?

The Republican party used to be really big on volunteering. The idea was that we shouldn't rely on government, but the community would help people out. In fact, there was a republican Senator (I don't remember which one) who suggested that people should volunteer to help out some poor woman who wasn't qualified to take care of her ailing husband and needed profesional help but couldn't afford it.

Pathetic. If Obama says, up, you say down. Congressman Grayson was right. If Obama were able to deliver world piece Repbulican idiots would complain how he hurt the defense industry.

What a joke.”

Axelrod, Emanuel Criticize Fox News: "It's Not Really News" (VIDEO)

Commented Oct 19, 2009 at 02:09:18 in Media

“Outside of Shephard Smith, Fox News is just a mouthpiece for the republican party. When you have people representing as fact that 2 million people attended the 9/11 rallies, that health care reform includes provisions for death squads, that is not a credible news organization.

It is one thing to report the news then present your opinion on it from a conservative point of view. It is another thing to present opinions over and over again that misrepresent the the truth and then claim that the viewer is confusing the news portion of Fox with the opinion portion of Fox. This is supposedly a news channel. The people like Hannity and O'reilly who express their opinion and present "facts" to back up those opinions should be fact checked just like the editorial pages of the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal are fact checked. But they aren't.. Hence the reality that Fox News is not news, but a political operation.”

Peggy Noonan doesn't believe half of what she says, and neither should we.

At some point, can we get rid of these faux pundits for some people who do some critical thinking?”

Yank in France replied on Oct 19, 2009 at 02:41:31

At least, she is an intelligent person who has often criticized the most extremist positions of the Republican party.”

“The difference between Biden's disagreement and Rush Limbaugh or John Boehner, for example, is that Biden is stating an opinion of what he thinks we should do. He has an idea and thoughts and logic. Your moronic hero's only goal is that Obama should fail. They don't state what they would do instead.

Unfortunately, you don't understand the difference between a legitimate disagreement and a bankruptcy of ideas.”

Palin Details Death Panels From Facebook

Commented Sep 09, 2009 at 00:18:55 in Politics

“The real issue is that we currently live under a rationed care system where a bureaucrat at an insurance company decides if people like me, who are not on medicare or medicaid, get coverage or not. if I get sick, I become tied to my job beause health care coverage is not portable because a beaurocrat at an Insurance company said so. Even though neither I nor anyone in my family has been seriously ill, my insurance premiums keep going up while my coverage keeps going down because bureaucrats at health care companies need to increase their profitability at the expense of me and all the people at my company. And every time I do go to the doctor for any routine kind of service, my bill goes back and forth between the health care provider and my insurance company at least two times, usually three times before a final price is settled on and the portion I will have to pay is decided. In the meantime, I can see the cost of my health care going up in the wasted back and forth between the insurer and the health care provider .

Please Mrs. Pailin, spare me your false ghost written comments. There are real issues here to discuss but your bogus claim about death panels is not one of them.”
