When George Bush betrayed Republican conservative principles by spending the country into a massive amount of debt, the Republicans doubled down in their support. Democrats do the exact opposite in the same situation. Obama is clearly coming up short in many, many ways. However, he is still our guy and if you think we will get better by abandoning him, then think again. What Republican is going to do better? Name one? .... I'm still waiting.... I didn't think you could name one.

Now, here's what I need to get re-elected." Progressives have GOT to be able to say "I'm going to lose votes over this," or they've got no chips to play with. If we're going to ask progressives to have back-bone, then WE have got to show it to them. We have to support them by drawing lines and backing them up, if not, we're leaving big O' at the table with no chips. I like the guy too, but this bill, as is, is a deal-breaker and it's like strike number 10. But so long as progressive voters give in, we can't complain about our elected Dems not having spine.”
