“That's just the way the woman is built - the clothes are not the issue. I don't think her dress overly emphasizes her back side. In my opinion, attractive people come in a variety of sizes and shapes and the body itself is only part of the package. Even if you only judge by what you can observe from a distance, whether or not a person is attractive also depends on how they carry themselves. Being comfortable with oneself and exuding self confidence, but avoiding coming across as arrogant by treating others with respect and grace, can often be a major determining factor in whether or not I consider someone attractive. I think Michelle Obama is one very attractive woman.”

“Time to revoke the Catholic Church's tax exempt status. If this were merely a private matter between the Catholic Church and one of their parishioner's and not yet another very public attempt to influence public policy by blackmailing an elected official, the Church would not be issuing public statements and would neither confirm nor deny any inquiries by the press or any other third parties not directly involved in the matter.”

“Guido is a common boy's name in Italy. However, in the northeastern United States, primarily in New York and New Jersey, it has become a commonly used term both within and without the Italian-American community referring to an arrogant, muscle-bound dolt who has more going on in the hair on top of his head than the brain that lays beneath. This is not a derogatory term that originated outside the Italian-American community, but from within the Italian-American community. This supposed controversy is most likely instigated by MTV to drum up publicity for yet another one of their contrived, scripted and choreographed faux reality shows, which MTV pumps out faster than my cousins turn out fat, stupid kids.”

“It also happens more often and with larger chunks of ice breaking off due to the accelerated rate at which the weather patterns shift from record lows to record highs. Last year an entire bay that had existed for tens of thousands of years disappeared completely, permanently changing the shape of Antarctica as depicted on globes and maps since they were first drawn up centuries ago. The trend may be toward warmer temperatures overall, but it is global climate change - the rate at which weather patterns shift from one extreme to another within shorter and shorter periods of time - that is bringing our planet to the brink of a major tipping point, after which nothing can be done to stop our planet's ecosystem and fragile balance of atmospheric gases from entering a period of imbalance that can make life as we know it today impossible for centuries to come. The world will not end - earth will survive, even flourish in some ways, but most if not all of the human race may not be among the surviving residents of the planet.”

Climate change is natural.
Antarctica...used not to have ice over it. And get this...Sahara desert used not to be a desert. In fact there is something called the piri reis map that some believe actually shows the coast of Antarctica in 1500, maybe when the ice melts we'll be able to prove that finally and then debunk those people who told you it was tens of thousands of years.
I'm saying you don't know and the science isn't in on it either.
We have only really been to Antarctica and the south pole since 1907(officially discovered in 1773) and you thinking we know anything for sure about a place apparently covered in melting ice is pretty arrogant of you.
Man Made climate change is a fraud that has been exposed very recently and if you really look into it you see why. This will be proved more in the coming weeks.
The humans that won't survive are in third world countries the same countries and corporations that run and fund the environmental movements are stripping resources from and giving them vaccines that are sterilizing them.”

“My best friend and long-time ex, who is 3rd generation pure Japanese-Ameican, traveled to Japan to meet his long-lost relatives and they visited one of the mountain resort towns where the wild monkeys bask in the warmth of the hot springs even as the falling snow flakes cap the tops of their heads, just like the human tourists who pay top dollar for the privilege. He told me that they were advised by the hotel, even though they were paying large sums to stay there, it is wise to give the monkeys the right of way - if one or more decides to enter one of the hot springs, humans should move on because the sweet looking, almost tame acting little creatures aren't that big on sharing their space with humans. No one seemed to complain as the sight of the monkeys coming down to luxuriate in the warm waters was almost as enjoyable as the warmth of the springs themselves.”

Even the Catholic Church under Pope John Paul II concluded that there is no conflict between evolution of the species and God's creation of man as described in the Holy Bible. The Bible is a collection of parables, illustrative stories, some of which have their seeds in actual events, that have been tweaked, added to and edited from over the centuries as the contents were copied by hand in order to teach certain lessons. All fundamentalists who believe that everything in the Bible is the literal and true word of God need to do is take a look at the earlier medieval texts and the ancient scriptures their modern Bibles have been taken from and they will see that there are clear documented cases of everything from minute details to entire segments being added to, removed and reinterpreted over time to suit the personal political and religious views of the scribes who copied the texts over time, especially within the Gospels.”

“You need to stop hanging out at the local mall and expand your horizons. Do a little traveling. almost 11 years ago I was given 2 - 3 months to live. Since then I've done my best to enjoy life to its fullest because I'm well past my expiration date. In August 2007 I finally made it to Europe, including a cruise around the Mediterranean. While in Naples, Italy, it was a lazy summer weekday afternoon and all the businesses were closing down for the afternoon siesta (yes, they do it in Italy too). While walking the long way back to the ship my best friend (and long-time ex) strolled through a lovely little municipal park at the southern end of the harbor. We passed straight couples engaged in a prolonged exchanges of kisses that was not distasteful, but would not have been tolerated in any US mall. Then beside a court being used by teens to play soccer, two boys in their late teens who had obviously taken a time out cuddled closely on a bench, smiling shyly into each others eyes and speaking softly between quick, soft pecks on the lips in full view of their buddies, who were oblivious except for the occasional eye rolling and beckoning the two to return to the game. It was such a beautiful display of innocent puppy love. The fact that they were both male and accepted by their peers and passers by only made it sweeter.”

“I remember Rod Stewart wearing an ambiguous puffy silk or satin shirt/blouse and a large pair of gold cluster earrings while performing "You're In My Soul" on the Grammys back in the day. During one verse where he is singing the praises of his love (the part where a violin plays a classical sounding rendition of the song in the background) Rod walked over to the violin player, singing directly to him, then as the verse ended Mr. Stewart wrapped his arm around the violinist's neck and gave him a big kiss on the cheek before launching into the chorus. I was 12 and my sister was 15 at the time and it thrilled us to no end watching our mother do a spit take with her coffee before launching into a tirade and running off to the master bedroom, supposedly to compose a letter of complaint about them televising what she called "a homosexual act".

“Didn't I hear the same thing about J.K. Rowling a scant three or four years ago? Even the monumental success of this blasphemy cannot compete with the timeless horror of the core vampire legend. The undead, rotting creature of the night, burdened with sorrow, longing to rest, but driven by unquenchable thirst, merely casting an illusion of beauty when necessary to seduce his prey, closer to the version portrayed by Gary Oldman in "Bram Stoker's Dracula", will live on long after these very pretty, very pale posers from the "Twilight" series have become tired cliches, as trite and laughable as the hard core Harry Potter fans now trotting around in fields with broomsticks between their legs. Being young, pretty, pale may be fashionable, but it is only temporary. It inevitably surrenders to fear of death and decay, where the original shadow of the vampire has and always will reside.”

“I learned to "love thy neighbor as thy self", much earlier on in Sunday school. In fact, even before Sunday School I knew at my core that it was wrong to take pleasure in the suffering of others. Even if you or one of your red-faced bagger brethren were to fall to the floor from a heart attack, my first reaction would be to lend assistance, not sit back and jeer. Were they to die immediately, my reaction would be to lend comfort to any of the family or friends present. In the military I learned that the only time it is acceptable to steel oneself against the suffering of others is in a battlefield, kill or be killed situation, or in defending oneself from immediate danger. These are not battlefield or self-defense situations (at least not yet). They are town hall meetings and I would grant anyone who has suffered such a loss from either side of the debate respect and compassion. Human empathy should be a quality that binds us as a people, not separates us.”

“I've come to expect the childishness - when they break out the three-cornered hats & stockings and start calling for the tree of liberty to be watered with the blood of tyrants, you know you're not dealing with people who want a serious debate. But the lack of basic human empathy and compassion never ceases to amaze, disgust, sadden and yes, even enrage me. It is understandable that in times of true war, in true battlefield situations where it is kill or be killed, it is human nature to steel oneself against the suffering of others in order to preserve one's own life. But these are debates, not battlefields (at least not yet). It is unthinkable for me to be dismissive or to even take delight in the suffering of others. If one of these red-faced baggers was to fall prey to a heart attack on the spot, my immediate reaction would be to come to their aid, not sit back and jeer - even if the victim received treatment under Medicare, I wouldn't comment on the irony unless and until they were no longer in danger. There is something VERY wrong with people who display such lack of basic human compassion for the suffering of others.”
