“You can't expect to be taken seriously when you say out of one side of your mouth that you want to treat immigrants better and then out of the other side of your mouth that you want to repeal the 14th amendment.
Look at the GOP shining example - SB1070. This gives police the right to require proof of citizenship of anyone they think looks Hispanic and lets the police detain that person - even if they are an American citizen. Making people who "don't look like us" carry papers is unAmerican.”
“Republicans think that if they say they care, then nobody will look at their actions, which show they most emphatically do not care. Republicans refuse to support any kind of immigration reform. If they take the Senate, they will start to pass anti-immigration bills. The Democrats won't bother to filibuster, since they know the bills will be vetoed. The GOP can not help but hasten their own demise as a party unless they change their core identity, which they will not do.”

“Assuming you are not Hispanic what is the chance you would move into or send your children to a school largely composed of Hispanic kids. Very little I would think. Liberals are very good at talking about tolerance, but actually practicing it, not so good. I saw this happen in the neighborhood where I grew up. When Mexicans started moving in whites moved out in droves; didn't matter what their politics were. And do you know who else moved out? Hispanics who were well integrated into American culture and spoke mainly English. The Hispanic culture is one of the most culturally and racially stratified of any I ever seen, far more than ours, the legacy of the Spanish. The difference is while we obsess about it, they simply accept it as the way things are.”
“I am a Democrat and served in the Military. Tell me how you people who propose "second amendment solutions" to overthrow the duly elected government "love our country". Oh - that's right - you don't love OUR country - you love the country you wish existed.”
“Free speech means that the government can't make laws that make saying something against the law. I mean really - read the constitution. People who think that freedom of speech means that there are no repercussions for your words or actions do not know what the "free speech" means,”
