“Absolutely ridiculous waste of law enforcement resources to prosecute marijuana possession, when liquor and guns are still legal. Marijuana laws do 100's of times more harm than good. They only finance and perpetuate a broken prison system.”
“I wonder how many are there because it all started by getting busted for pot? The laws against pot have produced FAR MORE VICTIMS than the drug itself. If you can buy alcohol you should be able to buy marijuana. It's just that simple. If anti-marijuana laws continue to be a such a high priority tax burden to the public, then we need to bring back alcohol prohibition and make it a real drug war. All the law does now is sanction the use of alcohol instead of any other recreational drug of choice. Alcohol is 100's of times worse than marijuana in almost every way and is far more detrimental to society in general.”

“This is such a misnomer. I'm in Alaska in the legal system. We have 80 people in prison for pot. Every one of them is ONLY there because they are repeat offenders. AND this is for distribution, not personal use. Yes many are cited for MJ possession but the idea that are jails are clogged with them is a lie.
Other drugs are more complicated. But I would also point out that in the federal system MANY there on 'drug' offenses pled to those charges to avoid convictions on far more serious crimes. (Almost every human trafficking case ends up pleading to numerous drug charges rather then pleading to trafficking and rape). So when you see that our jails are full of 'non-violent drug offenders' know that there is some truth but also a LOT of other factors that are not easy sound bites to digest.”
“It's that kick'em while they're down mentality of spoiled rich kids. The world is so simple in the eyes of wealthy people. If you are poor, then you are lazy. If you are ignorant, it is by choice. If you don't have a job, it's because you don't want to work. The GOP is made up of bullies. It doesn't matter what you call people like the Tea Party/KKK/Citizen's United/GOP pseudo-Christians take currently make up the Republican Party. They are the same personalities that populated the Democratic Party in the 1850's and countless similar political groups throughout world history.
American Republicans have turned into a cancer for humanity.”
“Which commenters in here were born in a poor neighborhood? Or without a father? And if you didn't have a father, how did YOU cause that to happen?”
Komrade Killjoy on Nov 1, 2013 at 17:14:39
“I was born in a poor neighborhood, my mom and dad divorced when I was young and we went from one poor neighborhood to the next. I cried about my misfortune for years, I envied and hated those who had more than we did, why aren't they helping us? It's because they're greedy, no doubt. They're holding me down, hoarding the wealth, not letting me in the door. Then one day I realized that nobody can hold me down, I challenged my college professors about their evil society mantra and was determined to show them I as an individual was stronger than the limitations they placed on me due to my social standing and racial makeup. In other words I no longer allowed the to control my mind and I no longer have to live in poverty, I don't have to make excuses for my mistakes or my status. I gave the left the finger and walked away from them forever.”

“That is not what the article describes. Its only variable is color. Now, what is it we call things based on color?”
“Whites get paid more because they are white. What's the difference?
After the GOP gutted and looted the school systems, we are luck any of them graduate. If you tried to live in poverty provided by the courtesy of the wealthy, you wouldn't do any better.”
I plead the 2nd on Nov 4, 2013 at 08:25:44
“They do? lol. Can you prove that they are being paid more "because" they are white? Or could it be because whites make up a much larger portion of the job pool and have higher average educations?”
“From Wiki- " Hood County is named for John Bell Hood, a Confederate lieutenant general and the commander of Hood's Texas Brigade."
I was born and raised in Texas, and people don't believe me when I tell them that the descendants of the Confederacy all moved to Texas during Reconstruction. They couldn't stand the Federal governments new policies and many lost their land and homes in the deep South. Confederate soldiers are praised as heroes by some folks to this day.
Teddy Cruz is a particularly malignant type of Republican cancer because he brings with him all the baggage of attitudes from the "Old South". That's where the wealthy rule over the workers like masters by trying to control every aspect of your personal life. Just wait until women from other states hear of the things he's done in Texas to set back the rights of women 100 years. That alone will get Hillary elected.”
“The worst is yet to come!! TEDDY CRUZ IS A COMIN' TO TOWN!!!!! YEEEEEHAWWWWW!!!!
And that little wisp of a Southern Belle, Ann Coulter, will be leaving her little snail trail right behind him. Teddy makes Sarah Palin look like a genius.”
“Most terrorist don't have regrets when they have inflicted pain on their enemies. In the case of the Tea Party/GOP/KKK/Citizens United terrorist , the enemy is the American people. Not all of the American people. Just the ones that actually do actual work instead of just "invest" and gamble with the futures of others. If a Republican Senator had to put in a day of actual work, they would keel over dead.”
“If business owners weren't so selfish, greedy, and arrogant, it wouldn't be necessary for the mean ole government to get involved. Citizeno I'll bet nothing in history has EVER been the fault of ungoverned capitalism, has it? We can all afford $1000.00 a month for over priced medications used to treat ailments brought on by poor working conditions. EVERYONE has thousands of dollars saved up because we all KNOW to expected corporations to take the jobs offshore to save 8 cents per unit on top of a lack of "useless regulations" that require safety measures. Why should workers be protected when investors could lose money at anytime?
Just read the Bible. It will tell you that others involved in the Manifest Destiny of America are here to toil for the luxury of those with wealth, power, and the infinite wisdom to acknowledge their own superiority.”
citizenofpeace on Oct 24, 2013 at 15:00:53
“Yes, there ARE some business owners that ARE to selfish and greedy. That said, there ARE some employees of these businesses that ARE selfish and greedy. Capitalism is NOT perfect. A euphoric utopia is a misguided ideology. In a good economy, we ALL have the opportunity, after getting trained and experience from these greedy business owners, to move on. Not in this economy, stifled by this administration. Furthermore, people need to get their priorities strait, and save money rather than spending it on materialistic want's, jealous of those who CAN afford them. Business' make decisions to move overseas because it is monetarily lucrative. Government needs to make it lucrative to do business here, rather than penalizing success. There are laws that protect us, the workers. But our almighty government is not regulating the existing laws, only to create more regulation, for more power over the people. Historians have emphasized that "Manifest Destiny" was a contested concept--many prominent Americans (such as Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant and most Republicans) rejected it. Historian Daniel Walker Howe wrote, "Nevertheless American imperialism did not represent an American consensus; it provoked bitter dissent within the national polity."”
“IF MARIJUANA IS SOOOOOO BAD THEN BRING BACK ALCOHOL PROHIBITION AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a double standard that allows the wealthy to receive slaps on the wrist for marijuana "violations" because they buy their way out, while the working Americans are crippled by fines, jail time, and a record that follows them the rest of their lives.
Meanwhile, the same people that would oppress the choice of others, will be drinking and driving, beating their spouses, and destroying families.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? Republicans are a CANCER!!!!”
“Republicans thrive on ignorance and inequality. Everyone living in a red state will need to be on the lookout for undermining by the GOP. Until they purge the evangelical element from their ranks public education is in danger.
Texas is under siege by Creationist that want the Bible taught as fact along side of researched scientific data. Religion is a personal choice and needs to be practiced at home. Not leveraged into school curriculum by zealots on the school boards refusing funding for those with different views.
Do America a favor and vote a Republican out of office the next time you're at the polls. There are other options and it's obvious that The Tea Party is same group of personalities we have been dealing with since before the Civil War. They've become a cancer to our Country.”
“Look in the mirror if you want to see a weiner. Oh I'm sorry...when people like you look in the mirror there is nothing there.... Or you won't be able to stop kissing it.... Forget the mirror.
When you talk to Satan at your worship service you can pray for wiener, so to speak....”
“It's pharmaceutical meds causing these "unexplained" acts of violence. Doctors get you hooked then after the patient takes them a while, the price inflates to ridiculous levels and the patient can no longer afford to buy them. Millions of Americans pay their last cent and/or go without other needs, just to pay for medication.
It's no different than dope dealers have done for years, except now GOP "investors" have found a way to extort money legally from Americans without being held responsible.
What a fine European Christian Country we live in.
Republicans are cancer.”

“I wish that when they say how much of what drug is in someone's system, they would also reveal all of the concoctions in the systems of the others involved in the situation. Just because a Doctor prescribes you a drug, it does not mean that it is safe.
If everyone is going to keep jumping on the anti-weed wagon then we need to pull the plug on alcohol too. I'm tired of wasting millions of tax dollars fighting an imaginary enemy. Alcohol is 100 times more lethal of a drug and of a detriment to society as marijuana. Having to use drugs of any kind to function or cope is tragic.”
“The face of one of Satan's minions. If they succeed in making the cuts it will cause those already on the edge to become more victims of the eight cancerous years of Bush deregulation. Taking the money from those that need will kill them off and the diverted funds will be used to kill supposed enemies that threaten Corporate profits for the rich. A win win in a Republicans twisted mind. Praise be to Mammon.........”
“Nothing a Republican likes better than seeing someone suffer. Especially children and immigrants.....”

“Is ICE some kind of Republican organization? They are there to enforce the immigration laws of this country that are being broken by millions of people sneaking across the border every year including these mothers. Someone has to take a stand and stop this onslaught that is costing us in money, straining social services, and flooding the country with people who have no respect for our immigration laws. By the way, when these mothers are deported, they can keep the family together by bringing them all back to their country of origen.”

“Only dems would stop and block any worker and special permit program that as been brought up. Instead, you libs continue to support human trafficking and slavery instead of a humane visa program that would resolve this type of issue as well as provide work for hard working people. Shame.”
