“Thank you for sharing your story, Amy :) A few parts were heartbreaking...so sorry that you had to go through so many painful experiences. What You Don't Learn in High School

Commented Oct 8, 2010 at 01:43:38 in Education

“Great job Zak! And I totally agree...it's a great big world out there and children should be encouraged to create their own wealth. Granted, not every child/student will want to pursue that route, but many will. The choices shouldn't be limited to becoming a doctor, lawyer or nurse...always careers where you are working for someone else. No one ever discusses that though. I don't recall anyone I've ever known getting a discussion about self-employment from a guidance counselor. Thank you for bringing up this topic...I hope people pay attention to the message. :)”

Racial Harassment Alleged During Arrest of Autistic Teen

Commented Jun 29, 2010 at 10:43:31 in Healthy Living

“This story is just heartbreaking. The trauma that this young man went through and continues to go through are going to take years of therapy and support to heal. I can't believe that they are still holding him...haven't any lawyers caught wind of this yet?? I heard that Holly Robinson-Peete was helping in some way, is that true and if so, how is she helping? This is so clearly a racial issue and i don't understand why none of the large equal rights organizations aren't getting involved. My prayers go out to Neli and his mother...this is just criminal and no one should ever have to go through this. Please keep us posted on what is being done to free Neli and what, if anything, the rest of us can do to help.”

“Tricia thanks for your concern. It seems that some people do not quite understand the deep trauma that my son has endured and continues to endure. I'm doing the very best I can to get help for Neli. I believe that this story needs to get national attention. I'm working on a few different things to get my son help. I really can't discuss those things here. But for those who would like to help, I've started an email campaign to the major news networks and the local news networks to at least report the story and allow our family to talk about the incidents that occurred that day. You can find that information on Neli's website titled under a post "How You can Help". People have reached out to me asking of ways that they can help. And since I myself have emailed these news outlets and received no response, I thought it might have a greater impact if more people were sending the email requesting a further look into the other side. Not the one sided story that was reported on 24 May 2010. Thank your for reaching out and trying to help. It is very much appreciated at this difficult time.”
