“I can't stop commenting on this one because Biden resigning is so absolutely ridiculous - on at least 3 levels - that it baffles me why Arianna would want to see our leadership act like tin-hat politicians. If Biden were to quit, we would be in a new era, and I don't want the US to go there. So, I have to put Arianna on the list; sorry...

Think more, react less.”

“While I agree that the sensationalization of the media is hurting our democratic institutions by misdirecting the public, the fact of the matter is that we are stuck with sensational media. Huffpost is just as guilty as any TV network.

However, I will say that if to start an important dialogue one must be 'reactive' ... then it's probably a good thing.

It's tricky though because we also need to be keeping this type of entertainment 'news' in check... I personally think Arianna is on the right side by taking such a rippling stance. Hopefully it shifts the talks in the White House in some sense or another.”

“The ethics of some prosecutors is a pool of ugly, and it can quickly engulf everyone and everything you love. Victor Hugo created Jean Valjean for his famous "The Miserable Ones" to help us know that.

As a cop once said, "there is no situation of human misery that can't be made worse by the presence of a police officer."”

Let ACORN Get Its House in Order

Commented Sep 24, 2009 at 12:37:30 in Politics

“"Defunding the left" is indeed an anthem of the righties, and it's because it is a successful weapon of political warfare against the left - which the middle barely likes anyway.

The organized left looks like an ineffective, dumb mob, whereas the organized right looks like a smart, winning enterprise”

“What part of your ego is stopping you from understanding that you don't have clue A about this issue? There is nothing you present that makes much sense, except that you have a comfortable relationship with conspiracies and a working knowledge of hating the man.

If you have something to add, fine, but you haven't presented it. When you do, we'll take you off the master list of deceivers.”

“For fact & irrefutable information see my comments in the profile area under all the appropriate topics.

Also see my other profile, Just2curious, & learn more truth behind vaccines.

There's too much info out there for that old & out dated rhetoric of "correlation not implying causation"

It's now out the window because thinking people paying attention know all the evidence out there is not mere coincidence.

The rising number of voices of distressed & distraught after witnessing injury, disease & even death are the main proof.

Then we have all the incriminating evidence that's been continuing to come out of bogus & fake studies & reports doctors were paid by big pharma to put their names on, to boot.

Google or use the search engine of your choice & check these matters out.

Take no ones word & do the research yourself.”

“Quick. Do something great for the culture, Dylan - like today, because if history is any guide you too will face the heady wind of corruption from flattery, money and fame. It's not your fault neccessarily, any more than it's the moth's fault that it flies into the flame, but it does mean that you had better do it all in the first 100 days or you'll join all us other no-shows.

Wish it were different, but in fact gods are hard to come by.”

Should You Get Your Drug Information From An Actor?

“I agree totally. The purpose of the prescription drug TV advertising is to make patients challenge their medical professional's authority in order to sell products for profit. It is unethical, defying the promise of the Hippocratic Oath to put patient concerns over other considerations.

You are absolutely right that we should "ban direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription pharmaceutical products."”

“I don't have a zillion bucks to pay for a campaign against what I disagree with. But HanniRushBeck, et al, have that kind of money - and there they are on TV, spouting what I believe to be morally and ethically wrong.

Your argument is a weak one - to say the least. "They have the right to be jerks", is what you are saying. I am saying something else. I am saying that I have the obligation to drive them out of the argument; to ruin them in any way I can and want; to shame and punish them as publicly as possible. And, maybe I will do all those things - and maybe I won't. Maybe I'll do far more interesting things, but what I will definitely not do is buy 'All Bran' after I've seen their ad on the HanniRushBeck show. You say that's meaningless because, for one thing, the product is also promoted on other shows. So what? You think I'll sit there and say, "Oh well"? I don't know whether or not you've noticed it but this culture is sucking muddy rocks at the moment and there is hatred all around - promoted, in my opinion, by rightwing thugs. And I am going to have a hand in beating them into the dirt until all they are is unsanitary.

So go buy some Fox butter and spread it on your toast. Enjoy.”

Tea Party Madness to Sweep the Nation?

Commented Aug 12, 2009 at 12:18:06 in Politics

“Hmmm. You say that very few people will be really affected by whatever bill passes, and that only small problems will turn up, but I doubt that the Vast Right-wing Conspiracy is gonna take a break and go fishing. The GOP has the power of hunkered-down, frightened capital and the technological of political media behemoths, and they will blanket the nation and scare an already terrified public with predictions of all kinds of dreadful things. Since you can't disprove a prediction, crazy theories will unfold in all directions and truth will disappear. Bad people are at work and until we realize who they are we will continue this sorry spectacle and jeopardize our nation’s future.”

“Nice dream, but it ain't gonna happen - at least not if they drag "health" into it.

The right will pounce on the issue of "health" and they will twist it into "the government telling you what you should eat and telling you that you have to lose weight or exercize". Picture the town hall meeting where that is "discussed" by low-info fat people from the south ! There would be guns all over the place.”

Diet and exercise can lead to a reduced, "non-diabetic", blood sugar level, but there is ample evidence showing that a person with type 2 diabetes who has reduced their blood sugar level to below the threshold of diabetes, still shows continuing reductions in health consistent with diabetes. There seems to be more going on than current testing can reveal.”

Don't Count Saint Sarah Palin Out for President in 2012!

Commented Jul 09, 2009 at 11:24:26 in Politics

“If America really has decided it will not go progressive, then Sarah Palin is the most electrifying of the remaining choices; maybe the only one. But in choosing her, America would return to its slow nose-dive to the museum, with a strained and desperate working-class stripped of dreams and accomplishments; merely toiling through the years.

The deafening collapse of American relevance will not be lost on the rest of the planet. The world will never welcome Sarah Palin - which further endears her to the hearts of America’s republican-confederates - as time goes by.”

DWGRadio replied on Jul 09, 2009 at 12:13:51

“Beautifully stated. Sarah Palin is the poster girl for the downfall of America.

It's all well and good to talk about the "real America" and bloviate about how this country is number 1, but that is a lot of hot air when all you do is parrot a slogan.

America WAS number 1, has the talent to be number 1 again. But that talent is consistently shut out by the louder, talentless side. The reg'lar folks who poo poo education.

Not one member of Sarah Palin's bigoted mob has the ability to recognize that progressive thinking is what made this country number 1, and it will take progressive thinking to continue elevating it.”
