But when you make excuses for them and blame the victim, you demonstrate your stunning ignorance and say things that are terribly hurtful for people who've actually gone through this. When someone has been on drugs for close to a decade, is already emotionally fractured, and then gets manipulated by their father into non-consensual sex, age is irrelevant. Most people, if they've had a "normal" childhood don't grow into emotional maturity until they reach their 30s. Mackenzie had been introduced to drugs at age 11 by a father who was clearly grooming her for a sexual relationship. When you are unable to make a sober, rational decision about sex, you are unable to give your consent. If you are unable to give your consent, then it is rape. That is why it is always considered rape any time an adult has sex with a child or has sex with an animal.

How would a young woman, drugged out of her mind give consent? How was her psyche, sense of self-worth, and identity shattered when she woke up and realized her father had raped her? A father is supposed to protect his daughter not introduce her to drugs and convince her that having incestual sex is "making love". Mackenzie is wrong in saying it was consensual sex because the power dynamic was shifted in favor of her father. Clearly he was a sick man but if we're going to blame,the blame lies with him, not with her. Ugonna, you have an amazing lack of compassion and an over abundance of self-righteous judgement. I hope for your sake that your child never experiences incest, because we can see how you'll react.”
