My objection to Obama is that he is not pushing real reform. He should be demanding a public option, pushing stiff regulations on the banking sector, re-implementing actual consumer protection. getting the hell out of Afghanistan instead of increasing the number of troops there. Ditto for Iraq.

Obama is Robin Hood? Puleeeze. His policies have only continued Bush's: unprecedented transfer of wealth FROM the middle class and poor to the super rich (that's the plutocracy in action, VTya). The bailouts and the accelerated militarization in Afghanistan and continued occupation of Iraq - all good oligarchic work for the plutocracy, with much harm to the rest.

“VTya, it's not about voting Republican nor is it about cleaning up after Bush-Cheney in 8 months. Our nation, and the world, will be cleaning up after Bush-Cheney for YEARS to come. It IS about Obama's abandonment of principals upon which most of us voted for him and abandoning them without any fight at all. He caved even before the battle got going and it is because of his ineffectual leadership that the opponents’ propaganda got traction. By the way, he campaigned on what most Americans WANTED: single payer "Medicare for All", not this new-speak of "public option", and even that is reportedly being abandoned! There were REASONS we voted for him and the opportunities to ACT on those reasons are NOW, not later. We did not vote for him to embrace Republican “status quo” and call it “reform”. He had everything necessary to make change, but he is squandering it. It has only taken him 8 months to show that he is weak, ineffectual and squandering a precious moment in history. We don't want more speeches - written for him, read from a teleprompter, delivered with charm and that beautiful smile - we want ACTION, COMMITMENT and ENGAGEMENT and we want him to FIGHT for what he said he believed in, along with us ! We will fight along with him, but we are feeling bamboozled as we see him fighting AGAINST us and alongside Republicans, in support of corporate power! Is that what you voted for?”
