My guess is that we will pass a public option with healthcare reform but give individual states the option to opt out. Eventually, all 50 states will be in even though there will be a decade or two of hardship for the working poor of those states that opt out. Obama can be maddening, but he eventually comes to the right place when it's time to go all in. After following the guy for 5 years and reading his books, I've just come to terms with him having a generally better sense of political timing than me. He's been wrong a couple of times but he's been right more than he's been wrong. In the end, trust that a politicians ego will come into play because without a public option, his presidency will suffer and if I know one thing about him, he wants his presidency to be historic. People of color know that they have to be twice as good and make half as many mistakes as anyone else in their job from the day they enter the workforce. I've lived it and I'm sure Obama has too. Keep the pressure up, but have a beer, glass of wine, or whatever helps you relax!”
